The Skinny (Est. 2011)

{Our Little Story}
Back in February of 2010 we took a family trip. If you have kids you know how that is...bags, strollers, car seats, blah, blah... Since we were flying, our hands were especially full. I wanted to take my Nikon SLR, but did NOT need another bag to carry onto the plane and didn't want to check my little bundle of joy. (Anyone nodding their head about now? :) )

So, I went into problem solving mode. I had made a little fabric bag/holder/protector for my 6 year old's video game and decided my camera was more important...so I threw my camera in it, put it in the diaper backpack, and off we went.
It was life changing I tell you. My camera was protected and I didn't have to haul another bag around!
I kept that little cover on my camera (wearing it around my neck) as we went to the beach, the Magic Kingdom, and everywhere else. I was in love. My little "coat" protected my camera from the bumps of crowds, kids spills, sun, rain, snow, sand, and anything else that came my way.
My friends wanted one. And thus, began my journey with Camera Coats. We hope you love them as much as we do!

Our Thoughts
Camera Coats sent me one of these new coats to review.  This year I purchased a new camera, and went bigger/better than what I previously had.  I LOVE to get deep into the woods and take nature photos. Interestingly enough, I had *just* been searching for a camera bag, and I really didn't want a huge bulky bag - just something to put the camera in to protect the lens, instead of me losing the lens cap, which has no way to attach it to the camera when it's off the lens.

Camera Coats has a sizing chart so you can easily pick the right size for your needs!  They offer 5 sizes!  My camera fits in the Standard size, even with the 55 - 200mm lens attached.

The bag itself is very nice - padded, water resistant, and has 3 outer pockets.  I took it with me up north to our cabin; it kept my camera safe and kept my fingerprints off the lens, which invariably happens when I pick it up as much as I try not to touch the lens.  I also really appreciate the buckle (you can see it in the left-hand side of the photo) that attaches to the camera strap!  All you need to do is take the camera out of the coat, take your photos, and you won't lose or drop the coat because it's ATTACHED.  Oh, I am SO in love with this thing!!!  I'm really glad this review opportunity popped up because I'd never heard of Camera Coats, and I would have purchased a bulky camera case instead.

The prices are very reasonable, ranging from $30 clearance to $65 bundle deals.  Huge thumbs up from me!!
