"The Sacred Science" follows eight people from all different walks of life, with varying physical and psychological ailments, as they embark on a one-month healing journey into the heart of the Amazon jungle. Working with traditional Shamanic healers, each participant takes an active role in his or her own recovery process - and using a combination of plant medicine and intense spiritual ceremonies and exercises, the barriers between physical health and mental well-being are blurred and eventually eliminated altogether.

As a Reiki practitioner, I am a strong believer in the power of natural healing. The universe has an energy that anyone can tap into, and this the message behind the Sacred Science. In this film, you follow eight desperate people who are looking for a cure that modern medicine couldn't provide. They find it in the jungles of Peru, at the hands of a medicine man. From herbs to sacred rituals, this documentary takes you on a journey of healing. Many of the practices can be applied in our everyday lives, right here in the US. The eight people suffer from diseases ranging from alcoholism to cancer, and in this ancient tradition, they all find some form of healing, be it physical or spiritual. Its a touching and enlightening film that teaches you to open your heart to all the possibilities the universe has to offer.
