Our Thoughts:
I have always been a fan of horror. When you throw David Hasselhoff as a lifeguard into the mix, how can you resist? I have love how he makes fun of himself and the movie throughout the film, adding a little bit of humor to the plot. The movie takes place at a water park that becomes infested with piranhas. In my mind, this somewhat limits the believability of the attacks. Maybe its just because I grew up in a tourist town and I'm a little too familiar with water parks. But putting that aside for the sake of entertainment, there is certainly a scare factor involved. The effects were pretty good even if not always believable. Aside from David, I found the rest of the cast to be overacting a bit, but again, I expect this is a horror movie, and almost look forward to it. If you are looking for academy award material, this is not the film for you. But if you are looking for a combination of laughs and a little blood and guts, by all means, take a look! And for the guys, yes there are plenty of boobs!! That is what B movies are all about! I have to admit, this film has its fair share of corny, but for the most part, it left me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, and definitely nervous about stepping into the pool at the water park again.
