Our Thoughts: I have always been a fan of Greek mythology, so I was looking forward to seeing this film. The storyline was very interesting and well told. They strayed away from the typical stereotypes, and told a story that was new and original, while still managing to incorporate authentic Greek lore. It was interesting that the evil warlord was named Hyperion when that it normally the name of one of the Titans he was trying to release, and the cavern where the Titans were trapped was called Tartarus which is normally the underworld. Its a unique take on an old legend.  The battle scene with the Minotaur was one of my favorite scenes, and I loved their depiction of the gods, including Zeus and Athena. The story itself was quick moving and full of action. I do think some of the blood letting was a little overdone, but that seems to be the trend these days. Immortals has all the elements I look for in a fantasy film from magic to romance, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys mythology at its best.
