John Ridd was just a boy when his father was murdered by the villainous Doones. Now he is a young man who is driven my only two passions: his quest for revenge and his love for the beautiful Lorna, who is the daughter of his sworn enemy. The scene is set in the lawless 17th century England during the height of the Monmouth Rebellion. The movie is filled with plot twists that you will never see coming, and passionate scenes that will leave you craving more.
Lorna Doone is a historical film at its best. It has all the qualities I look for in a movie--romance, intrigue, and adventure. The cast, which includes Clive Owen, Polly Walker, and Sean Bean, give a stellar performance and wisk you away to the past with their breathtaking passion. The wardrobes and sets really make you feel like you have stepped back in time. This is a movie that all history lovers are going to want to see for his historical accuracy as well as its tale of timeless romance.
