Scholastic Media’s March 2011 Highlights!

March is a big month for Scholastic Media with lots of exciting new episodes premiering for many of your children's favorite shows.  My family was lucky enough to get a sneak peak at a few of the new episodes and they are definitely something to get excited about.  The first show we checked out was "Gets Ready, Set, Dough" from the The Magic School Bus which just premiered on 3/11/11 on Qubo.  Its Mrs. Fizzle's Birthday, and the kids set out on a field trip to the bakery. But when the bus' shrinker dinker scope goes on the fritz, the whole class gets baked into a cake.  It takes lots of intuitive thought and fun to get out of this one. Dom DeLuise guest stars as the voice of the baker, so if you missed this one yesterday, you will have to make sure you catch it the next time around.

On Thurday, March 17th, you will definitely want to catch the premiere of  Maya & Miquel, "Good Luck Paco" which will be airing on PBS kids.   After a few mysterious coincidences, Paco & Miguel become  convinced that their parrot, Paco, is a magical good luck charm.  At first its fun for everyone, but eventual poor Paco gets worn out from all the unreasonable demands. Maya & Miguel have to will have to learn to consider other people's feeling and not to expect too much from others.

Finally, on Monday, March 21st, be sure to set your clocks for Turbo Dogs new episodes, "What a Lulu" and "Can't Do It All" , which will air on Qubo. This is one of my son's favorite shows, so he was thrilled to get a first look at the exciting new shows. In "What a Lulu", Dash agrees to pet sit for Mag's hamster, Lulu.  He expects it to be easy, and doesn't pay too much attention when Mags is explaining how to take care of Lulu. But then Lulu escapes, Dash learns the valuable lesson of responsibility and to pay more attention when someone is telling him something important.

In "Can't Do it All", Five announces that he is celebrating the five year anniversary of the Dog Gone Pizzeria.  Mags thinks it would be a great idea to throw a surprise party for Five in honor of the big event. Everyone volunteers to help, but Mags wants to run the whole party on her own. She soon gets overwhelmed with the planning and learns that it is much better to work as a team than to try to do everything on her own.

These are three great shows that  you and your children aren't going to want to miss. Be sure to check your local PBS and Qubo stations for air times!
