Love & Other Drugs DVD Review

I have always been a fan of Anne Hathaway. My daughter and I have watched "The Princess Diaries" and "Ella Enchanted" more times than I can count. But while her performance is as stellar as always in "Love &Other Drugs", this is definitely not a movie for the kids. Unless you want to ruin their image of Princess Mia forever. Because it this film, Anne bares it all, and I mean IT ALL...

In Love & Other Drugs, Jaimie Randall  (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a drug pusher, but not the kind that works on the street corner. He is peddling the legal kind of drugs from Zantex to Viagra. In his efforts to land a deal with a local doctor, he meets Maggie Murdock (Anne Hathaway), a beautiful young woman who is in the first stages of Parkinson's disease.  They form a bond fairly quickly. At first it starts out as just a physical thing.  Jaimie has always been a playboy and Maggie doesn't want to burden anyone with her disease. But as time goes by, the playboy learns he has a heart after all, and that he is falling in love with the free spirited Maggie. The only problem is, she doesn't want to be a burden. The toy of them most come to terms with their fears if there relationship is ever going to go to the next level.

Love & Other Drugs is an endearing love story that shows that love really can conquer all, we just have to be brave enough to let it. Both Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal give realistic and heart warming performances. The seriousness of their situation is lightened by many humorous scenes and the sex scenes are spicy without being vulgar. If you are looking for a romantic comedy that will make you laugh, cry and ready to snuggle with your sweetheart, this is the perfect movie to watch.

Love & Other Drugs will be available at DVD and Blu Ray Retailers nationwide starting 3/1/11.
