Today is Thanksgiving, but we started our celebration last night. Thanks to Tortuga we had a few extra goodies on the dessert tray. Tortuga makes some of the tastiest rum cakes I have every tried. We received two different cakes to try out and they are both a culinary delight. I received both the original rum cake and and orange rum cake to try out, and my family couldn't have been happier.
Tortuga's rum cake is amazing. Its so moist and delicious it practically melts in your mouth. The rum flavor is strong without being overpowering. I am one of those people who can't drink. Even a few sips makes me sick. This is a great way to get to taste the rum without the after affects. Its not as sweet as other cakes, so its a nice change from extra chocolate or too much whip cream. Its goes great with a cup of coffee or a cup of tea. All in all, a real treat for all the grown ups!
