Holiday Gift Guide - Solar Energy to the Rescue Review

I love toys and games that are fun to play with but that also teach kids something valuable. Solar Energy to The Rescue, which is available from The Young Scientists Club, is just that type of game. Its part of "The Magic School Bus Series" which is geared towards younger children.  Solar Energy to the Rescue is a science kit that teaches children how the power of solar energy can be harnessed. It provides a series of fun experiments that are simple and fun for kids and parents.

Solar Energy to the Rescue Kit offers a multitude of experiments designed for children five and older. Some of which I found my children could do on their own and some that required some supervision. The kit comes with everything you'll need including a small solar panel, thermometer, fan, tubes, balloons and more.  My kids had a ball melting their own mini ice caps, making a fan spin with the power of the sun,  storing solar energy, and recreating global warming in a bottle. Its was fun and exciting, but the thing I love the most about this particular set is that its teaching children about the dangers facing our environment as well as ways that they can really make a difference.

This is only one examples of dozens of fun science kits that you can find at The Young Scientist Club. They also have kits about dinosaurs, going green kits, and even kits to make slime to name just a few. There is something for all the little scientists out there. These kits would make a wonderful holiday gift because they are more than just a fun toy. They are a way to expand young minds and they might even get a child started on the path to becoming a grown up scientist someday. Because who knows! Your young scientist could be the one who grows up to save the world!
