OUR THOUGHTS

I don't generally wear headbands because they either slip, or give me a headache.   But sometimes, it's nice to just get the hair out of my face. Or like today, where I NEEDED to have my hair out of my face. 

You can't see the Vero Brava headband, but trust me, it's under there doing it's job keeping my hair out of the blast zone.

See, we just got torrential rains and serious flooding in our area over the last couple of days.  This means, yes, you guessed it! Water in the basement! Yay! (not!) We are lucky, though, we're in a higher end of town so were just dealing with a clogged drain so the water coming in had nowhere to go. But unclogging a drain with standing water can be a messy, messy thing.  And when you're getting splattered with god-knows-what, you want your hair out of your face and you want it to stay there!  I'm super glad the Vero Brava headbands are washable, and now I'm extra thankful.  In case you've ever wondered, a 55 gallon trash bag makes a rather nice plastic dress you can use to cover your clothing so it doesn't get messy.

Get Colorful Hair without Any Dyes with Secret Color

Fun and funky hair colors are all the rage right now, and my teenage daughter has been wanting to jump on that bandwagon. While I do believe in allowing the freedom of self-expression, I also don't want to see her ruin the gorgeous long hair she's spent years growing out by damaging it with bleaching and coloring. Secret Color was the perfect solution.

Secret Color is an easy to use hair extension set that works just like headband. The hair is attached to an elastic band that you stretch and place over your head, leaving the extensions in the back. Then you simply pull free the sides of your hair, allowing them to blend with the extensions. The result is a natural blend of your real hair and the colored hair. It looks amazing, and you can't see the elastic band at all.

We've had our Secret Color for about a week, and my daughter is really happy with the extensions so far. The elastic is thin and you will have to be careful, but if it was any thicker, you'd be able to see it, which would ruin the realism. As long as you aren't rough with the piece, it should last for quite awhile. The  hair is very soft and feels very close to real hair. It's easy to brush as long as you're careful not to pull too hard so you don't break the band. My daughter's hair is pretty dark, and we went with the blue shade, and I was happy to see if shows up very well.  Overall, I think these extensions are pretty fantastic. They gave my daughter the look she was craving without causing any damage to her hair. Plus, if we can get more one, we can easily switch the color to match her outfits.  Both mom and daughter are pleased with this product.

My Thoughts

I have a fourteen year-old daughter, and she likes to pretend she's too old for candy, but I caught her sneaking the gummy bears from her little sister's basket this past Easter. My Thoughts

If you love Frozen, you're going to adore the new Elsa Beauty Collection from e.l.f Cosmetics. These cosmetics will transform girls of all ages into a princess.  The Elsa Snow and Ice Beauty Book was my daughters' favorite item from the collection. Its designed to look like a novel, but when you open up the package, you'll find a beautiful collection of makeup. There are eight different colors of eyeshadow, each named after one of the characters, eyeliner, lip gloss, snow queen powder and a brush for application. Also included inside the book is a pretty mirror and instructions on how to get the same smoky eye look that Elsa sported in Frozen.

In addition to the large set, you can also purchase individual packages which are great to store in your handbag if you need to do some touch ups on the go.  Choose from a selection of eyeliners, eye shadows, lip glosses, and more. I just loved all these makeup sets. They are high quality, but an affordable choice. I have two girls--one is five and one is fourteen, and this makeup is fun for both of them. For the teen, the colors are subtle, so a young girl can where them without looking painted. For my little one, its fun to play dress up and it will be great for Halloween when she plans to dress as Queen Elsa.
