You only have one chance to make a first impression—and let’s just say, we are impressed! butter LONDON, the official makeup sponsor of Project Runway Junior® Season 2, has partnered with the talented teens and tweens of the hit reality show for the highly-anticipated season premiere. As part of their official makeup sponsorship, butter LONDON’s beauty room was featured in last night’s episode, where contestants worked with celebrity makeup artist Scott Patric to create one-of-a-kind looks to complement their designs on the runway.
The season debuted with a “First Impressions Challenge,” putting the up-and-coming designers to the test by asking them to create a look that represents their point of view. Whether they are inspired by their surroundings, their experience being chosen to compete on Project Runway Junior or something from within themselves, each of these talented young artists have something to share.
The winning look featured an array of butter LONDON products, including the award winning Glazen Eye Gloss, Double Decker Lashes Mascara and Plush Rush Lip Gloss.
My Thoughts:
I love reality television about as much as I love makeup. I was very excited to give two products by butter LONDON a try, the Double Decker Lashes Mascara and the FitLash Primer, from the season premiere of Project Runway Jr. When they arrived I instantly was drawn to the cute packaging. Each had a nice pop of color.
The next thing I examined was the wand. That is a big part of how much and how even an application of product is distributed. Both wands were a great size and well designed. The primer had soft bristles that coat the application evenly and softly to the lashes. The mascara wand had thicker bristles that grabbed each lash and lifted them up as if they were already curled.
I began my test using the FitLast Primer first. The primer is there to help grab onto the mascara better and create even thicker, longer lashes. The primer did not clump and it instantly lifted my lashes upwards in only a couple swipes. My lashes are normally thin and fine, so I adore products that give them both length and volume. I try to go for a false lash look without actually having to use them. I was excited to see how the mascara would do after seeing how great my lashes looked already!
Last but least was the Double Decker Lashes Mascara. I love this product! There have been many mascaras I have tried through the years, and this product is certainly in my top favorites. With just one application, my lashes were instantly defined, dark, long, and lush. I did not curl beforehand to show the full effect of what this mascara can do. It appeared almost like false lashes. I was extremely impressed! The application was not messy and it did not clump. The pictures below were taken right after the first and second coats without any brushing. If you love extra volume and intensity, try two coats.
Not only do these products work hand in hand to create a signature lash look, they are long lasting! After application, the intensity of my lashes stayed put all night. I did not have any smudging or itching. No matter if I yawned or wore contacts, nothing moved. When you are ready to remove, I suggest using a makeup remover to get it off. Simple cleansing with a facial wash will not remove it completely. Make sure not to get any of the fibers in your eyes while washing, it will sting.
I highly recommend both the FitLash Primer and the Double Decker Mascara for those looking for an intense eye product that will last through any activity you have planned for the day!
