Skout Organic Trailbars
The hustle and bustle of holiday shopping is in full swing, which often means afternoons and evenings spent at shopping centers, malls or on the road when hunger strikes. While jumping from store to store, healthy snack options are few and far between. Rather than exiting for the nearest drive thru, pack a Skout Organic Trailbar for a great-tasting, all-natural, organic snack to keep you moving. Their compact size makes them a convenient snack to carry for one-off cravings or on-the-go sustenance the whole family will enjoy.
Available in select retailers nationwide and online, Skout Organic Trailbars use only a handful of carefully chosen, all-natural, organic ingredients, and provide a delicious source of naturally occurring protein, fiber and vitamins. They are certified organic, gluten-free, vegan, soy-free, Non-GMO Project verified and certified Kosher and I believe your readers would enjoy them.
Our Thoughts
Seriously, this is the best healthy snack I've ever had the honor of testing/tasting. It was kind of funny too, as I had just sent my husband out to gather some chocolately goodness to feed my cravings and he comes back with the mail as well. I tore into the Chocolate Coconut first and ate it in about 2 minutes flat. This isn't your typical "healthy snack" that has a hint of flavor. You really do think you're eating a candy bar and keep looking to make sure the ingredients aren't lying to you!!
Morning came and I happily indulged my inner sweet-tooth with the Apple Cinnamon, to which I actually thought better than the Chocolate Coconut, which I never thought would be possible, but it happened. As a bonus, my kids saw me getting excited to eat these so they really wanted to try the Cherry Vanilla (I got to taste test it at least) and they devoured it. I'm an iffy person when it comes to cherry flavored items, but this was awesome. The chocolate peanut butter was like a dessert for all us girls, having to share an all... haha. Unfortunately, I did not even get to try the Blueberry Almond because my kids snuck into it without my permission and ate.it.all. At least we know these are good to go for kid approval!!
Perfect for breakfast, snacks, desserts and most importantly, hiking!! Packed full of nutritional goodness and ready on the go!

Hit the Trail With SunRidge Farms
By Tara.
*Item received in exchange for honest review. No financial reimbursement.
It's still warm out all over the United States, and despite the fact some states have already send their kids back to school, many people are still enjoying the great outdoors in the form of biking, swimming, hiking, or maybe you're an all-year morning run person.
Organic Supreme Almonds – Loaded with the good monounsaturated fats, these crunchy almonds are packed with nutrition and are an excellent source of protein and energy. SunRidge Farms’ Supreme Almonds are grown in California and certified USDA organic. Perfect on-the-go snack to take with you on a hike or for a day at the park.
Organic Hit the Trail Mix – this “king of the trail” mix is SunRidge Farms’ most popular trail mix. The perfect mix of nutritious ingredients, it includes the following certified organic ingredients: Roasted Tamari Almonds, sunflower seeds, cashews, raisins, peanuts and pumpkin seeds.
Organic Deluxe Trail Mix – SunRidge Farms’ first-ever product – and still popular 30 years later -- is great on the go, for hiking, biking and other summer activities. The trail mix is a delicious blend of organic dried apricots, organic roasted peanuts, organic raw almonds, organic dried apples, organic walnuts, organic date pieces, organic sunflower seeds and organic raisins. The result is a snack that tastes delicious, is packed with fiber, iron and a host of other nutrients.
This may seem like a short review, but I honestly have nothing critical say to say about these. I was disappointed at first to discover there was no chocolate in the bags, but quickly came to realize, it didn't need it. A few handfuls satisfies one's hunger. I don't have to eat the entire bag to be happy. I can't which ingredient is hitting the spot, but it is. I'm also surprised at how much flavor the mix has without sugar and all that bad stuff.
You may like to carry around trail mix with you--a quick snack that survives hot weather and provides instant nourishment, but are you eating a healthy trail mix?
Introducing SunRidge Farms trail mixes.

That packaging is also convenient. Love the zipper. I can eat a little bit, zip up the bag, and keep it fresh until I want it again.

“Our seaweed is nature’s perfect snack,” says Annie Chun. “We cultivate it in the chilly waters of Jang Heung Bay, the region of Korea’s Yellow Sea famous for producing the world’s finest seaweed. It is sustainably grown, harvested with care, then roasted and seasoned to perfection.”
What does “GimMe” mean? Annie and Steve’s daughter, Mia, who is a fan of crispy seaweed -- known as “gim” in Korea -- came up with the name “GimMe” because, as she says, “It’s so good everyone always wants more!”
What makes GimMe seaweed special? GimMe’s seaweed is grown in an agriculturally protected region of the Yellow Sea, off the coast of South Korea. The protected nature of the sea water allows GimMe seaweed sheets to be USDA certified organic. GimMe Roasted Seaweed Snacks are the first (and only!) seaweed products on the planet to be certified organic and verified Non GMO.
What are the nutritional benefits of seaweed? Seaweed offers the broadest range of minerals of any food on the planet, containing 10 to 20 times the mineral concentration of land plants, plus protein and fiber. A serving is low in calories (25-100) and packed with flavor and nutrients. Seaweed is an excellent source of iodine and vitamin K and a very good source of folate, magnesium, iron, and calcium. Seaweed also contains measurable amounts of vitamins C and E, which help the absorption of other nutrients.

Our Thoughts
Being paleo, I was excited to give GimMe Seaweed Snacks a try! I'd been eyeing seaweed in one of the natural foods stores I go to. I didn't know what it would taste like, but I expected maybe a "green" or a "fishy" flavor.
They do have a fishy flavor, and while some may not care for that flavor, I LOVED it! It's just a little sweet, too, so it really satisfies that sweet/salty craving. I just wish the packages were bigger, LOL, because I could eat a lot of it!! GimMe Seaweed snacks come in either little flat thin sheets, or crumbles. I think the sheets are easier for snacking - they don't make a crumbly mess like you'd think they would, and the crumbles would be perfect for toppings. I can't wait to share these with my mom, who I know will love them too! The best part, these are totally safe for my child, who has special dietary needs. With his genetic disorder, he needs help absorbing nutrients and that is one thing seaweed can help with. I can just add some of the crumbles to his food for added nutrients and flavor.
I am really excited to see that the crumbles are available at Walmart - in fact, I may have to take a trip there today just to find more!

OUR THOUGHTS:
We eat paleo here; my tastes have changed considerably. I had tried some rooibos tea in teabags years ago and didn't care for the taste - but now that my tastes have changed, I wanted to try it again. And I'm glad I did - this stuff is really good! But not just really good, I mean really good . . .
I received all 5 flavors to try out, and I gotta say, this tea's fantastic! The Vanilla Chai is hands down my favorite . . . it's like drinking a cream soda, but without the carbonation (which is fine by me!). I'm savoring the Cranberry Pomegranate as I type! The flavors are just right - not overly bold, just a very nice well-rounded flavor, with the taste of the rooibos in the background. I'm not ashamed to say I took down two bottles upon opening the box, it's that good! Really, really good! I also like that it's in glass bottles rather than plastic.
My mom loves peaches, so I gave her a bottle of the Peach flavor to try - she loved it! Had the same thought I did - these are so freakin' tasty, they are hard to drink slowly - you just want to keep on drinking! The only one I didn't really care for was the unsweetened one. But, to be fair, I tried it *after* drinking the sweetened flavors, and I know from experience that if you've had a taste of something sweet, something not-so-sweet will taste even less sweet. Now if I had tried that one first, I'd probably have liked it better.
Being paleo, we bring our meals with us as it can be hard to find paleo friendly food & drink when out and about. It's nice to know that this is an option actually out there in stores!
