My Thoughts:

Ever since I read about the harmful effects of antiperspirant, I have been a user of all-natural deodorants. The only issue is, there are so many brands. Finding one that works for me has been a bit of a challenge. My skin is very sensitive. Some brands on the market have given me rashes, dry patches, and discoloration. When I heard about Thesis Beauty and their award-winning formula, I knew I had to try it.

First and foremost, the packaging was beautiful. Such calming colors and the bottle was so pretty. You could smell the delicious essential oils right when you open the box. If you're someone who loves a good fragrance in your deodorant, you will love Thesis! The scent is earthy and welcoming.

Upon using the product, I was thrilled. It's wonderful and truly works. The smell lasts and the formula easily fights the odors of sweat no matter where it is on the body. I had no harsh reactions thankfully. Spraying this product on verses the stick method I'm used to was so much easier during my morning routine. I would highly recommend Thesis to our readers!

Grocery store antiperspirants have become the most common solution to bromhidrosis, or what most of us affectionately refer to as B.O. We smear these sticks of who-knows-what on our bodies day in and day out, often unaware of the havoc they may be wreaking internally. You see, most antiperspirants out there contain chemicals like aluminum chloride and parabens that have potential links to breast cancer, lymph node cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and liver disease. The American Journal of Public Health published a report showing that on average, 64% of what we put on our skin is absorbed into our body and some studies show nearly 100% of what we put on our armpits is absorbed into our body. Where does it go after being absorbed? Right into your bloodstream. We think this stinks pretty badly.

My Thoughts: 

Ever since I started reading about the dangers of store bought antiperspirants, I have been on the search for a good alternative. Going through the aisles of my local supermarkets and drug stores, almost no all natural brands were being sold. I was extremely surprised by this. After trying one I did come across a few months ago, I ended up breaking out in a horrible rash. I was left disappointed. I knew there had to be a brand that worked somewhere. 

When I heard about Humble's products, I was thrilled to give them a try. A completely natural, cruelty free line of deodorants with ingredients I actually recognized? Count me in!  

Humble has created three signature products in their deodorant line: Essential Cedarwood, Essential Lavender, and Simply Unscented. All are created using Organic Cornstarch, Organic Bees Wax, All-Natural Baking Soda, Organic Olive Oil, and Organic Essential Oil (Scented products only). Upon opening them they smelled fantastic! I loved the relaxing smell of Lavender. The Cedarwood was an nice uplifting woodsy scent. Although the Simply Unscented did not have essential oils in it, it had a very light clay type fragrance. It was nice! 

I tried each one for an extended period of time to know how they worked in terms of longevity and wearing power. Each had a nice thick consistency. The application was a little chunky, but that was easy to solve. If you take a paper towel and wipe off any excess you will be fine. They dry pretty quickly after applying and are not sticky or uncomfortable. The Cedarwood and Lavender left a nice scent after application. Each one lasted a different amount of time for me, but all three did indeed last! Another plus, none of them irritated my skin. 

The one that gave me the longest lasting performance was the Essential Cedarwood. I absolutely love this one. It worked all day long for me and still smelled fresh before bed. No matter how much I sweated after a long day of running around, it stayed put. I was amazed! 

Essential Lavender lasted almost as long, but the smell was close to being gone by the time I was ready to go to sleep. Simply Unscented needed an extra application after a few hours, but it is still a wonderful pick for those who are sensitive to essential oils or are not looking for a scented deodorant. Each did leave a slight residue on my clothes, but again, if you take a paper towel to remove any excess product before putting on your clothes, that should reduce any marks. It is easy to fix.

I'm a big fan of all things natural.  My son & I follow the paleo way of eating, and I make the majority of our health & beauty products.  But finding a natural deodorant has proved to be challenging.  I've tried many brands without success, until Primal Pit Paste! 

Primal Pit Paste sent me the Jacked Up Jasmine Primal Pit Paste, and the Lavender Primal Pit Paste Stick for review.  I had to open them both up right away and the scents were wonderful.  I thought, I sure hope I smell as good after using them!

I tried the Lavender stick first - it is stiff and a little difficult to apply; it's not as smooth as a commercial (aluminum & paraben filled!!) deodorant, but let it warm against your skin for a bit and it softens up a little.  I'm impatient though, I'm sure I could let it warm up more than I do! 

I've tried just about every brand of deodorant, both commercial and natural, out there - I can't stand the scents of the commercial ones, and all the natural ones not only didn't do anything for wetness (most don't claim to, anyway!) but didn't keep me smelling fresh, either.  Epic fail.  Now the Lavender Primal Pit Paste Stick, I LOVE!!  I can't say enough good things about this one.  It does what it's supposed to do - keeps me fairly odorless, and much, much dryer than I expected!  I gave it a run for its money - I tried it on hot days and hot days while wearing a polyester shirt (you all know how bad polyester shirts can smell in the armpit area!).  And it worked!  I'm sold!!

The Jacked Up Jasmine . . . well, I wish I could say I loved it.  While I'm sure the paste is just as effective as the stick - it has the same ingredients minus the beeswax, it just did NOT work with my body chemistry.  While the scent of the essential oils is supposed to fade away and not stick with you, the gardenia in that one to an especially fine liking to me and would NOT leave.  It was so overpowering I washed it off after only 10 minutes because it became headache inducing - and even then I could still faintly smell it.  So, I gave that one to my mom since she is able to wear that type of scent.  On her - not only did it work great as a deodorant like the lavender does for me, the scent didn't last on her at all - just like it's supposed to (or not supposed to?? whatever, LOL!!)! Point is, she loved it.

What really drew me to try Primal Pit Paste is the ingredients.  There isn't a single ingredient in there I don't already use on either a daily or every-few-days basis, which is important to me because I'm already familiar with what I'm using, and how I'll react to it.  Now, some people may be sensitive to baking soda's pH.  Primal Pit Paste has a great FAQ's page that addresses how to overcome it.  Another awesome benefit of Primal Pit Paste (besides the obvious health reasons!) is that since it doesn't contain aluminum, it won't stain the armpit area of your clothes yellow.  I've lost many a white shirt that way, but no more!!

I'm always on the look out for something that is a natural product. With this, I took a chance. I love my normal deodorant and wasn't sure that I was going to like this but wanted to try it just because it was a natural product.

When I started wearing Geodeo I was impressed that it kept me dry and it actually smelled good. I then forced my husband, who is kind of picky about his deodorant to use one of the other sticks that came for review.

The Geodeo works well for us as long as we're not sweating a whole lot. Personally, I think it's okay for use during the winter months when we're inside but when I workout or sweat a lot I notice that I have to reapply it a couple times which I don't have to do with my normal deodorant but that's not a huge deal breaker for me. I will say that it goes on smoothly and smells fantastic! Another thing that is on my "pros list" is that it doesn't make me break out at all! Two thumbs up for that fact because I'm über sensitive to chemicals in things.

I really like the idea that this is an all natural deodorant and that it's supposed to help detox the body so I'll continue using it throughout the winter months at least and see how summer goes!
