Holiday Gift Guide - Retro Returns with Dubreq’s Latest Stylophone

Dubreq, a British company dedicated to making exciting products both in the musical instrument and gift industries, today announced the availability of its new Stylophone GEN X-1 model, just in time for the holiday season. Equipped with a suite of new tools to create weird and wonderful sounds, this model is available for purchase at Amazon.com with a SRP of $70.

Like the original Stylophone, users can make quirky and original musical compositions by using the metal keyboard with either the stylus pen-shaped tool attached to the battery-operated model, or they can use their fingers to sound the notes. In addition, the GEN X-1 comes with a 3.5 mm jack, allowing users to connect the instrument to headphones or other gadgets.

“Aside from the obvious fun factor, the GEN X-1’s versatility is its number one feature,” stated John Simpson, managing director, Dubreq. “It offers users of any musical background the chance to be creative and experiment with unusual mixes and melodies. Professional musicians also love the choice of sounds the GEN X-1 provides."

The original Stylophone shot to fame in the sixties when it was used by David Bowie in his track, “Space Oddity”. Other professionals also saw the attraction of the portable synth as it became an iconic sound. More recently, the Stylophone was featured in the latest Hollywood blockbuster, Baby Driver.

Simpson continued, “More and more young musicians are excited by the possibilities that technology offers them to make music. Many of them are looking for affordable and innovative instruments, which is one reason behind the rediscovery of the Stylophone and the development of our new GEN X-1.”

Dubreq’s Stylophone GEN X-1 model features the following:

· A stylus keyboard and separate sound strip

· LFO square and triangle wave

· Low pass filter cutoff/resonance

· Sub octaves 1 and 2

· Envelope attack/decay

· Delay time/feedback

· X button pulse width modulation

· Mini-jack in/out

· Built-in speaker
