My Thoughts

A Place to Call Home is a suburb period drama set in Australia in the 1950s. Sarah Adams spent twenty years as a nurse overseas. When she finally returns home, she meets handsome widower  George Bligh. Sparks fly between the two, but his wealthy family is less than pleased with their budding romance, especially when she has a run-in with his brother. Mrs. Bligh, his controlling mother, does everything she can to keep the new couple apart, but Sarah isn't a woman who gives up easily.  Season three introduces even more obstacles. There are ten episodes in the third season.

The Things We Do for Love-George get shots and Renee gets arrested. Anna and Gino get to go on their honeymoon and Sarah reveals a secret.

L'chaim, to Life - George reveals a big surprise,Sarah is struggling with past memories and Gino is horrified when he learns a family secret.

Somewhere Beyond the Sea- There is a big political party at Ash Par.
Sarah asks Sidney for help with her problems. Elizabeth is introduced to a widower named Goddard. Olivia models for a painter and things get steamy.

Too Old to Dream - Sarah makes a big decision she's been struggling with. Olivia and Lloyd are still hot for each other.  Goddard gets an odd addition to this workers  Gino runs into issues with his vineyard.

Living in the Shadow - A lot of unsavory secrets come to light. Regina runs away after getting into a fight with James. Sarah & Rene have some difficulties.

In the Heat of the Night -  George starts to guess what Sarah's big secret it. Olivia is still having an affair and James starts one of his own.

The Sins of the Father - George struggles with the anniversary of this father's death and his political views.James disappears on the baby's christening day. Rene and Sarah need to make a life and death decision.

Till Death Do Us Part - Rene may need neurosurgery. Gino gives up on the vineyard.

The Mourners' Kadish - There's a sad funeral. Elizabeth and her suitor continue their tryst. Regina plots against George.

The Love Undeniable - Lots of tension and many truths revealed. An exciting conclusion that leaves the door side open for Season 4.

This is such a great show, filled with secrets and romance. Each episode ends in a cliff hanger that leaves you wanting more. In addition to the fabulous storyline between the main characters, in also ties in actual historical events from the time period.  I can't wait for Season 4 to come out on DVD.
If you'd like to grab a copy of this fantastic period drama for yourself, its available on Acorn Media for only $59.99. You can also order it online on Amazon.
