Aldon never got anywhere on his good looks, at least not according to his late wife.
At forty-two, his only companion is a cat named Tilly, and he’s turned to drinking in his off-hours to quiet the discontent in his head. As a city cop, he carries a heavy weight on his shoulders. Though he’s troubled by his own problems, he never lets them get in the way of helping people.
Now he’s needed more than ever. When the daughter of a nobleman goes missing, Aldon is sent to an alien planet to retrieve her.
But there’s one catch. The woman he seeks is unique. She is a siren, and she can raise the dead.

My Thoughts
A Siren of the Dead is an exciting and face-paced adventure. There's a little bit of everything in this book--sci-fi, paranormal, mystery--all leading up a a thrilling inter-dimensional war. The story is set in a world much like our own, but there are a few big differences. One is that they have creatures known as sirens who are capable of raising the dead. When one of the sirens is abducted on another planet, Aldon is sent on a rescue mission that leads to some shocking revelations that could put his entire planet in jeopardy.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was an entirely unique take on zombies, and also had an exciting sci-fi twist that totally blew my mind, but I won't give away any spoilers. If you're looking for a book that's really different, The Siren of the Dead is a great choice. I've never read anything quite like it, and I'm excited to read the next installment.
