My Thoughts 

There is no other way to say this, but we are obsessed with these blocks. Since receiving them, I have now gone out and bought the fireman set, and a wonderful starter set that I found. My son plays with these for hours, I play with them, my husband plays with them. They have quickly become a whole family favorite. The other day my son and I made a structure flat on the ground and when I lifted the pyramid in the middle the sides all connected together as I lifted it and suddenly i had a tower. It was so satisfying and my son thought I had preformed a magic trick. I love watching the mind of a three year old build things and figure them out. His creativity with these blocks astounds me. There are so many different sets to choose from and build your collection on their website. They have even come out with Paw Patrol and Shimmer and Shine sets. These toy sets have won many awards including being a finality for the Toy of the Year Award.   

They are good quality, brightly colored plastic with strong magnets that click together. They make the most satisfying noise when they click together. It makes clean up such a breeze and I keep them all in a small trunk. They all come with manuals to help you with different ideas for construction. The boys also just get creative on their own. They have a line of vehicle sets, animal sets, educational, motorized, themed, etc. They also have many STEM approved sets as well. These really are the greatest toys.

My Thoughts 

This has probably been one of the most successful items I have reviewed for the blog. Everyone in my family has since become obsessed with these blocks. The first night I opened this set, my husband and my son played for two solid hours, QUIETLY! We have even bought a few more sets, because my HUSBAND wanted to be able to do more with them. As he puts it, he "loves that they are small enough and flat enough to not take up a lot of room, but are not choking hazards." We actually just recently took a small bag of these blocks with us on a weekend trip. My father and his friend were playing at the dinner table with my son with these. When our friend took some block pieces to build something my son looked at him and said, "Bad boy," and took them back. Everyone starting laughing. There are so many different sets to choose from and build your collection on their website.  These toy sets have won many awards including being a finality for the Toy of the Year Award.

My Thoughts 

My son went into the bathroom, took out a pair of stethoscopes and put them in his ears. No one had ever shown him how to do that. He just did it. It was adorable. Every woman thinks her son or daughter will be a doctor, but I think my kid's future profession is a done deal. So when this little kit popped up, I had to have it. it is so cute. My son immediately put the stethoscope ear buds in his ear. I showed him how to whack my knee with the reflex hammer. He knew immediately how to handle the thermometer after his Father had the flu last year. He remembered it after watching Daddy for a week. He immediately put it in his mouth and tried to press the "button" at the end of it. 

It came with other items as well, and otoscope, a doctor's notepad, some stickers, etc. I like that everything is BPA, phthalates and PVC free. The great part is also that you can throw them in the dishwasher. Right now he just likes to play with the tools, but when he really can comprehend what everything is and does it will be even more fun for him. There is another version that has little ambulance car with it as well. That is adorable also. Green Toys is a great company that makes safe, recycled, environmentally friendly children's toys. The packaging is made from recycled materials and soy ink. It is all FDA food grade materials. What more can a mom want?

My Thoughts

I like how versatile this Mushroom Garden learning toy is. It is like a little rock em' sock em' robot. My son can spin it, drag it, roll it around with his buddies. It is very interactive, especially for a little boy who likes to get really crazy with his toys. It has easy to press little mushrooms that can be controlled by the center button. It has music themes, numbers, colors, and patterns. It is great for hand eye coordination. It has a pattern feature where the baby can follow the pattern. It is a fun toy because it can grow with the baby. It can be for toddlers as young as 12 months and grow with the toddler. These toys have won many awards

The Connectrix Junior seems like a wonderful toy that Declan will definitely enjoy when he is a little older. He is a little young for it right now. My husband and I checked out it out, however. It is a very interactive. There are 24 cards with 48 lessons. There are games, some one player others two player. You can interact and play with your friend. My husband and I played each other on a few of the games (I won). I am excited for my son to be able to use this. These cards cover a lot of subjects like math, animals, science, time, the alphabet. These are great ideas for schools to implement as well. To turn learning into a game is the goal of any parent. These are perfect for that.

Our Thoughts

Once upon a time we had many, many Discovery Toys items in our house. My oldest used to use the toys as physical therapy assistants. He has Cerebral Palsy but the Discovery Toys were awesome in helping develop his fine motor skills that weren't so good when he was a toddler. The toys we do have left over from him have been passed down to our other three children. Since things have been passed down, I really haven't given Discovery Toys a second glance just because I didn't think I had a "need" to look at the toys. 

Talking with Judy on the phone about the new catalog and the new products was an eye opener. Not only do they have the classic toys that I remember well but they have more books now! There are some toys that are always going to be classic Discovery Toy items but I'm super stoked to see how many new products they have!

One of these new products is Block It.  Block It brings back the wooden blocks that most of us that are 30 and older grew up with. The blocks are all different colors, shapes and sizes! These make a great building tools. I know Miss K really loves building up a tower then knocking it down and building it again! Even my older kids love to play with these blocks. Really, when you get Discovery Toys they are ageless. 

They do carry toys for every age; newborn to teen/adult. I highly recommend at least taking a look at the catalog and seeing if there is something special for that special child/teen/adult in your life!
