Reasons to Invest in Car Booster Seats

Every parent has worried about their child’s safety while traveling with them in the car. With accident rates increasing rapidly across the world, the safety concerns for kids also keep growing. This is why many parents are always in search of where to buy a car booster seat for their little one. However, some parents still don't understand why a booster seat might be a great investment and how it can ensure safety for their little one. Even when technology has evolved largely, many are still hanging in the midst of this confusion as to whether they even need this accessory in their car or not. And we will be addressing this confusion, in this piece of article.

Let’s find out about all the possible reasons why parents invest in car booster seats and why they must do so!

  1. It is a law in many states:

It might not be a law in your state, but if you are traveling by road, between state lines, then it is best to be safe rather than being sorry. Make sure that you check the laws of road safety of the state you are traveling to and comply with them. Car booster seats are mandatory in a lot of states for the sake of child road safety.

  1. Ensures road safety:

The right type of seat ensures road safety; it can be the reason of life and death for many. There are various types of car seats that determine the safety of children. It depends on the age and weight of the child, as to which car seat might be the best for them. There are 4 types of car seats, including rear facing car seat, forward facing car seats and seat belts along with the booster seats. You can always do your research as to which type of car seat would be the best for your child, according to their age and weight.

  1. Saves you from severe harm:

Road safety is very important to consider and sadly, many in our society overlook this. Booster car seats ensure extra safety and help in lessening road accident damages. However, you need to make sure that the car seat installation is done appropriately. It is similar to attaching a seat belt wrong. If it is not done right, it wouldn't provide you with any protection. Therefore, you need to make sure that the car seat is installed properly so that it protects you against extreme damage.

CONCLUSION:

Car booster seats play a huge role in your child’s safety while you are traveling. Whether it is your day to day travel or you are going out on a trip; ensuring road safety is a very crucial thing to notice. Therefore, make sure that you are paying attention to all the elements of car safety by investing in a booster car and other types of car seats which can help you in this matter.

CarSeat CoPilot Automatic Alert System Keeps your Child Safe

The CarSeat CoPilot Automatic Alert System is a patented technology device, designed to assist parents and caregivers in remembering their most prized possession in the backseat. The seat belt clip sensor attaches to the straps of your child’s car seat, transmitting a signal that triggers the alarm sound with the key fob (included), when separated by more than 10 feet. The CoPilot purposely does not rely on a smartphone app, cellular data coverage, BluetoothTM technology, or WiFi connectivity, indicating that it should work at all times.

Features:
  • PATENTED TECHNOLOGY: It is a patented use of radio wave communication for this product. The CoPilot purposely does not rely on a smartphone app cellular data coverage, BluetoothTM technology, or WiFi connectivity, indicating that it should work at all times.
  • HOW IT WORKS: The CoPilot is a seat belt clip sensor that attaches to the straps of your infant/car seat, transmitting a signal that triggers the alarm sound with the key fob (included), when separated by more than 10 feet.
  • WHY YOU NEED IT: At least 52 children have died in unattended cars so far this year, making it the second-worst year in history, and with the holiday madness coming up, it can continue to happen because no parent thinks it can happen to them.

My Thoughts

It will never happen to me. That is the type of stuff that happens to other people. We have all thought that at some point. I have literally had that conversation with my husband about falling asleep at the wheel. "Do you think anyone this has ever happened to thought it would happen to them?" This, after the umpteenth time he told me he was fine. These are the kinds of things we do no prepare for that we easily could. Why would we not use something so simple to protect our children from the simplest mistakes or oversights we as parents can make? That is what the CarSeat CoPilot Automatic Pilot System keeps from happening. It is super easy to install. It goes over the already existent straps of the car seat and sits below the chest clip at the top.
It comes with two key fobs, one for each parent. If the key fob and the CoPilot are separated by more than ten feet while it is still "clipped," then the alarm will sound on the key fob. I know I have a four week old right now, and sleep deprivation can play some serious tricks with your mind. 55% of kids that were injured in the car, the parent or caregiver forgot they were in the car. The other thing that I really like about is it does not require wifi or bluetooth. EVERYTHING requires bluetooth or wifi these days, so it is nice to have something that doesn't. It come with really easy to install directions. It comes with two micro usb cables to recharge it. You can recharge it in your home or in your car if you have a usb port. This is peace of mind you hope to never have to use, but can save the most important thing in your life if you do have a potentially life threatening slip of the mind.

mifold Portable Booster Seats

Booster seats are an absolute safety must for children ages 4-8 years old who are under 4 feet 9 inches and 40 lbs. but they can also be a real pain for parents! Traditional booster seats take up a ton of backseat real estate, are cumbersome to switch in and out of cars and forget about lugging them on long trips! Because of these issues, 1 in 5 children do not use a booster seat in the car for carpools, with grandparents or other relatives, in taxis, on vacations, in rental cars, or in a backseat with three passengers in a row!

Now there is a better, easier option to keep kids safe! Meet the mifold Grab-and-Go booster seat!

The mifold Grab-and-Go booster seat is 10x smaller than a regular child’s car booster seat making it the most advanced, compact, and portable booster seat ever invented! Plus, it is just as safe- meeting or exceeding the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards in crash tests!
  • mifold adjusts the adult-sized seatbelt to securely fit a child by bringing the seatbelt down to a correct position
  • Features 3 seatbelt clips, two on both sides of the hips, and one on the shoulder
  • Belt guides are adjustable to three sizes to ensure the belt is always held snugly in place
  • Compactly folds and fits into a child's backpack, a glove compartment or bag
  • Available in 6 colors
  • For use on children 4-12 years
  • Fits children 40-57" tall
  • MSRP: $49.99
  • Available online at www.mifold.com and www.Amazon.com
With mifold, a child can always be safe no matter whose car they are in! Watch this VIDEO and visit www.milfold.com to learn more.

My Thoughts

This thing is amazing. I am not going to lie when I first saw it, I thought to myself there is no way I am letting my kid sit in this, it is so tiny. There is no way it is possibly safe for her. My goddaughter is 5 years old, and I was nervous about it. After seeing it and setting her up in it, I have to say this thing is pretty amazing. It is so light and easily folded up. I cannot wait to be able to take this on a plane trip.

That is definitely its biggest appeal for me. The idea that I can fold it up and put it in my backpack, not have to check a booster seat. It comes in cute colors. It would perfect for someone that lived in a city, having to jump in out of cabs. It easily folds up and fits in a purse, diaper bag, or backpack. For us the ease is going to come with traveling. My husband is in the military and we are constantly getting moved around. This will be perfect for when our son has to go to Grandma's house for the weekend or we have to jump on a plane for a military assignment.

I also love how adjustable it is. It can adjust to fit children from ages 4-12. It has three sizes and three different seat belt clips to be able to adjust to the size of the child. This booster seat will get us a lot of use during that time period. I also love the it has a fantastic safety rating and meets all of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards in crash tests. That is the most important part, the safety of my child.

Child and Tween Car Safety #KidsBuckleUp

My oldest daughter just got her permit, so I've been thinking about vehicle safety more then after. Every 33 seconds a child under 13 is involved in a car crash in the United States. For younger children, car seats can dramatically reduce the risk of fatality or injury – but over half of car seats are either installed or used incorrectly. For older children, buckling up is critical. A full 50% of children age 8-14 who were killed in car crashes from 2011-2015 were not restrained.

That’s why we want parents and caregivers to know about the importance of making sure their child is safely restrained—whether that’s selecting the right car seat for their child’s age and size, or making sure that older kids (8-14) always buckle their seat belts and sit in the backseat.

As parents, we all want to do the right thing to keep our children safe and sound.  This spring, the Ad Council and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are unveiling new PSAs to address these important issues.  First, is the up to date car seat safety information like the tips found in the fun new video series “The Wide World of Car Seats.”

When my teen daughter starts driving her siblings around, I want to be certain she understands the importance of booster seats and seat belts.

The right car seat can make all the difference in a motor vehicle crash. And car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1 to 13 years old.  But despite their best intentions, many parents may not realize their child isn’t in the right seat.  For example, many parents move their children to the next restraint type (car seat, booster seat, seat belt) too soon. To make sure you have the right seat for your child, visit SaferCar.gov/TheRightSeat.

And just when you think you’ve got this parenting thing down, your child becomes a “tween” and you enter a whole new world.  To help with travel safety, the Ad Council and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are unveiling new PSAs featuring characters from Fox’s upcoming summer road trip adventure Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. The PSAs remind parents and caregivers that even if kids argue and plead, parents should stand firm and always insist that their kids buckle up and sit in the back seat (the safest place for kids under the age of 13). My kids love the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Watching the PSAs together is a great way to remind them to buckle up safely, just like some of their favorite characters.

Per data from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an estimated 69,000 tweens are injured every year in car crashes and 61% of 14-year-old children killed in 2015 car crashes were unrestrained at the time of the crash.  Even though life as a parent is full of compromises, seat belt safety should never be up for negotiation. That’s why the new PSAs encourage us to: “Never give up until they buckle up!”

For more information or if you need more tips to convince your tween to buckle up, visit SaferCar.gov/KidsBuckleUp.  If you have a great tip, join the conversation on social media using: #KidsBuckleUp.

Child Passenger Safety Week,

Child Passenger Safety Week
Storks know how to keep kids safe. Do you? Visit safercar.gov/therightseat to know for sure that your child is in the right seat for their age and size. #STORKS #TheRightSeat. During Child Passenger Safety Week, will you help us spread awareness about the importance of having “the right seat” and “the right fit”? For most of us, grabbing our gear and running out the door and hoping in the car is an everyday occurrence. Maybe you are headed to work, a play date, or on vacation – but we spend a lot of times in our cars. When we have little ones, we put them in their car seat and buckle them up without a second thought to whether or not they are in the right seat. We trust that they are safe – and we go on our way. Did you know that every 33 seconds a child under 13 is involved in a car crash in the United States? Car seats, if used correctly, can dramatically reduce the risk of fatality or injury. But over half of car seats are misused in a way that could reduce their effectiveness and 1 in 3 children killed in car crashes are completely unrestrained at the time of the crash. Can you imagine? Thinking that your child is in the right car seat, only to find out that they aren’t! So what do you choose? Infant, convertible, or booster seat? Finding the right car seat and installing it correctly is no easy task. Then there's the question of when to transition your child to another type of car seat. Car Seat Safety Tips:
  • Find a car seat that fits your child. As children grow, how they sit in your car will change. Make sure the car seat you purchase is designed to fit your child’s current size and age.
  • Not all car seats fit in all vehicles so test the car seat you plan to buy to make sure it fits well in your vehicle.
  • Before putting your child in a car seat, read the manufacturer’s instructions so you know how your car seat works.
  • All-in-One car seats offer you the advantage of using the same seat for the following positions: rear-facing, forward-facing with harness, then booster. These seats typically have higher height and weight limits for the rear-facing position, allowing you to keep your child rear-facing for a longer period of time.
  • Remember, the best car seat is the one that fits your child properly, is easy to use, and fits in your vehicle correctly. The information here can help you choose the right seat for your child. Keep in mind that:
Car Seat Safety - Find The Right Seat
  1. Your child under age 1 should always ride in a rear-facing car seat.
  2. Children ages 1-3 should be kept rear-facing as long as possible.
  3. Keep your child in the back seat at least through age 12.
  4. Be certain you've installed your car seat correctly by having it checked at an inspection station or by a certified child passenger safety technician. Bring the Car Seat Instructions AND the Vehicle Owner’s Manual with you to a seat check appointment!

Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1 to 13 years old. Many times deaths and injuries can be prevented by proper use of car seats, booster seats, and seat belts. By working with the Ad Council and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) we hope to get out a message that will educate parents and caregivers about the importance of selecting the right seat for their child’s age and size, and to remind them that car seats, booster seats and seat belts offer the best protection for children in crashes and help save lives. Is Your Child In the Right Car Seat?

b341afef-2150-45f9-b9c4-8011e40a274e
Unless you plan on walking, a lot, your child needs a car seat from the time you walk out of the hospital until they are at least 7 years old. And, by law, most states now require children to ride in booster seats until they weigh at least 60 pounds or more. Can you imagine? Thinking that your child is in the right car seat, only to find out that they aren’t! So what do you choose? Infant, convertible, or booster seat? Finding the right car seat and installing it correctly is no easy task. Then there's the question of when to transition your child to another type of car seat. Following these steps will help you find the right car seat based on car seat type, age and size recommendations, and will show you how to install your car seat the correct way. There are three basic types of car seats to choose from:
  • Rear-Facing Car Seat: It has a harness and, in a crash, cradles and moves with your child to reduce the stress to the child's fragile neck and spinal cord. To maximize safety, keep your child in a car seat rear facing for as long as possible.
  • Forward-Facing Car Seat: Has a harness and tether that limits your child's forward movement during a crash. To maximize safety, keep your child in a car seat for as long as the child fits within the manufacturer's height and weight requirements.
  • Booster Seat: Positions the seat belt so that it fits properly over the stronger parts of a child's body. Keep your child in a booster seat until he or she is big enough to fit in a seat belt properly.
20840a4d-44b1-4165-a902-d4c24c6e1f1a If you are buying a new car seat, it is easy to find one that fits the perfect profile for your child’s age and size recommendations. If you are considering using a second hand or used car seat, there are some other things that you need to consider. If you can check off each one of these statements, then the second-hand seat may be okay to use.
  • The seat has never been involved in a moderate to severe crash.
  • The seat has labels stating date of manufacture and model number. You need this information to find out if there is a recall on the car seat or if the seat is too old.
  • The seat has no recalls. If you do find a recall on the car seat, you should contact the manufacturer as some problems can be fixed.
  • The seat has all its parts. If the seat is missing a part, contact the manufacturer as some parts can be ordered.
  • The seat has its instruction book. You can also order the instruction manual from the manufacturer.
As a parent, you are your kids' strongest influence when it comes to modeling safe driving practices, including buckling up every time you get in the car. Teach your family that safety is the responsibility of all passengers as well as the driver. 1ff18ab2-dba5-4c47-8e0f-7361ab9a9e50 Get this message out to your friends and family!

Car Seat Safety

CAR SEAT SAFETY
Did you know that every 33 seconds a child under 13 is involved in a car crash in the United States? That probably isn’t the first thing you think about when you are hauling your kids to school, the grocery store, or anywhere else around town. And really, you shouldn’t have to worry about whether or not your child is safely snuggled into the right car seat every time you get in the car. Instead, make sure your child is in the right seat from the get-go. Safety seats, if used correctly, can dramatically reduce the risk of fatality or injury. But over half of car seats are misused in a way that could reduce their effectiveness and 1 in 3 children killed in car crashes were completely unrestrained at the time of the crash. Just the thought of that is devastating. So why not select the right car seat from the start? And just because you THINK you know you have the right car seat, think again. Wouldn’t it just be best to know, without a doubt, that your child is in the right seat? Unfortunately, there are so many parents out there who are not educated on the ins and outs of car seat safety. It is so important that we get the word out and educate parents and caregivers about the importance of selecting the right seat for their child’s age and size, and to remind them that car seats, booster seats and seat belts offer the best protection for children in crashes and help save lives. CAR SEAT SAFETY Don’t wait until it is too late. Check out http://www.safercar.gov/parents/CarSeats/Car-Seat-Safety.htm to make sure you have the right seat buckled in the right way. Car Seat Safety Tips:
  • Find a car seat that fits your child. As children grow, how they fit in their car seat will change. Make sure the car seat you purchase is designed to fit your child’s current size and age.
  • Not all car seats fit in all vehicles so test the car seat you plan to buy to make sure it fits correctly in your vehicle.
  • Before installing your car seat in your vehicle and putting your child in the car seat, read the manufacturer’s instructions so you know how your car seat works.
  • All-in-One car seats offer you the advantage of using the same seat for the following positions: rear-facing, forward-facing with harness, then booster. These seats typically have higher height and weight limits for the rear-facing position, allowing you to keep your child rear-facing for a longer period of time.
Make it your priority to make sure your child or a child you love is safe when they are buckled in.

Safe Travels with the Britix Frontier Clicktight

All parents-to-be plan a checklist for what to bring to the hospital. Once baby arrives, they refer to their second checklist. This one starts with a cherished newborn outfit and ends with an approved car seat. While the hospital makes sure everyone is healthy before discharging, hopefully the new parents have been trained to make sure the first ride home is a safe and secure one.

Savvy parents who purchase their car seat from a Brixy member store -- a trade association for independent juvenile retailers in U.S.– have access to a Britax premium car seat line featuring the ClickTight installation system and an exclusive fashion for Brixy stores. The Boulevard ClickTight convertible ($369.99) and the Frontier ClickTight harness-2-booster ($329.99) boast a black/gray color pattern called Dylan, only available at select Brixy stores while supplies last.

Car seats are about to be in the national spotlight as the week of September 13–19 is Child Passenger Safety Week. “All 50 states and the District of Columbia have child safety seat laws,” reports the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Highway Loss Data Institute. However, grownups need to discover precisely what their state law requires before placing babies, preschoolers or youngsters in the car.

Until they are needed, parents and grandparents may be unaware of car seat rulings. Luckily, Brixy stores are located coast-to-coast and each store’s knowledgeable staff can advise parents on current laws and more importantly, best practice.

My Thoughts
The world of baby gear has changed drastically over the last few years.  Parents want convenience, functionality, and economically priced products that will last. That's where Britix comes in.
Britix had been around for decades and they manage to evolve and stay with the times seamlessly.  When my oldest was born almost everything we had was Britix, and even today, when my last baby turned four, I still turn to them.  From convertible car seats that allow extended rear facing and forward facing, Britix is giving parents  more options to fit their needs. The Britix Frontier Clicktight is a perfect examples because it's a two in one product that will last from the time your child is forward facing to well through their toddler and pre-school years.

The Clicktight is an awesome forward facing car-seat. Then it easily converts from  a forward facing seat  to a booster.  It only requires one step for set up, simply snap the back into place,  and it's ready for installation. Using the seat belt or latch system you can easily and quickly have this in and ready in just about ten minutes. You can adjust the built in harness more efficiently thanks to the Clicktight system on the bottom of the seat, which is two little latches under the cover.  A push of the buttons and all that's left is to pull up on the back to raise the shoulder straps.

The harness is easily adjustable and holds children safely all the way up to one-hundred and twenty pounds.  My youngest is four years old and just over forty pounds. He fits comfortable in the booster mode and still has plenty of room to grow. As far as style, this seat has it all. The neutral colors suit both boys and girls, it's easy to clean, and it even has two cup holders. The removal of the built in harness is easy.  The instructions are clear and simple to follow. Please remember when using any car seat to have it installed properly and to follow all requirements.

The only downside to the seat is that it's heavier than I anticipated. This isn't a deal breaker,  just cumbersome, but overall I am very happy. After four kids and fifteen years of parenting, I still think Britix products are the best on the market.  Britix has many more great products including strollers, carriers, and more! Be sure to consider them for all your baby gear needs!

Graco Argos 80 Elite--Review

The Argos™ 80 Elite Car Seat (Available at Babies “R” Us, buybuy Baby, and specialty stores) is an advanced 3-in-1 car seat, featuring the Simply Safe Adjust™ Harness System, will keep your child harnessed for up to 80 lbs. and coverts to a booster seat up to 120 lbs. for years of use.

The world of baby gear has changed drastically over the last few years.  Parents want convenience, functionality and economically priced products that will last. That's where Graco comes in.
Graco had been around for decades and they manage to evolved and stay with the times seamlessly.  When my oldest was born most everything we had was Graco. The catch was none years ago the industry was just exploring the newest and best.

From convertible car seats that allow extended rear facing and forward facing to the Graco Argos 80 that is a three in one forward facing booster parents have more options to fit their needs.

The Argos 80 is by far my favorite forward facing seat.  It only requires one step for set up, simply snap the back into place,  and it's ready for installation. Using the seat belt or Latch system you can easily and quickly have this in and ready in just about ten minutes. You can adjust the built in harness more efficiently thanks to the button betting on the top of the seat.  A push of the red button and all that's left is to pull up on the back to raise the shoulder straps.

The five point harness is easily adjustable and holds children safely from twenty to eighty pounds,  twenty-seven to fifty-two inches tall,  and at least one year of age. When using the vehicle seat belt child misery be thirty to one hundred pounds, thirty-eight to fifty-seven inches tall and between the ages of three to ten. The last way to use this particular model is by removing the back.  Being just a booster seat your child can use this up to one hundred and twenty pounds,  fifty-seven inches tall and ages four to ten.

The removal of the built in harness and back are easy.  The instructions are clear and simple to follow. Please remember when using any car seat to have it installed properly and to follow all requirements.

The downside to the seat is that it's heavier than I anticipated. This isn't a deal breaker,  just cumbersome. The only other thing I noticed is that to get a child in and out is a chore if said child wants to be ornery.
There are several compartments to put things and the cup holder is nice and big. This is fantastic as you can accommodate almost any size cup.

My daughter despises riding in the vehicle.  We have another seat in my husband's truck and after using the Graco Argos 80, it's clear that she prefers it over the other one. There's enough cushion that she isn't screaming to get out within ten minutes.

Graco has many more great products, like high chairs, strollers, play yards and more! Be sure to consider them for all your baby gear needs!

Cozy Cover Review

A Stylish Way To Tote Your Tot For On-The-Go & Traveling Families
Before you leave home for a short errand or longer trip this Spring and Summer, don’t forget to pack the stylish Cozy Sun and Bug Infant Carrier Cover made by EVC.  Available in cheerful Spring colors and a fun, striking striped and polka dot design, the Cozy Sun & Bug Cover provides a tight seal around the infant carrier to protect baby from potentially harmful insectsand unwanted touch (great for preemies).  It also features a pull over flap, which allows babies to sleep while on-the-go and protects from other weather elements such as wind and rain.  The self supporting canopy creates a spacious, well-ventilated enclosure for baby.

The cover features a backless design, as recommended by car seat specialists, and does not interfere with child safety straps. The elasticized edge allows for easy use and fits around the infant carrier cover like a “shower cap”. It's recommended for children from 0-12 months and fits all standard car seats. Additionally, it has a compact design for easy storage in a diaper bag or a stroller pouch—perfect for busy, traveling families.  As you make your packing list for your next adventure, don’t forget to include the EVC Cozy Sun and Bug Infant Carrier Cover!

Our Thoughts

We live in the woods. And that means bugs everywhere! Mosquitoes and icky creepy crawlies are not my idea of a fun time, even if we like camping. Speaking of camping, if you live in the city this is still great if you're a camper and even if you're not as those pesky bugs can be everywhere. My baby is due right in the middle of summer and this is really going to save me hassle of mosquitoes and ticks as we're outside quite a lot. Baby can chill in his or her car seat with a nice breeze and the "top down" on the cozy cover!

For the installation, it is super easy to take on and off the car seat. It doesn't hinder any straps and what not either so you don't have to worry about that. This is very useful for spring and summer, and the colors are super cute too. They also have ones for winter too though so don't miss out on keeping baby extra warm when the snow hits!

They have some other cool products too, like changing pads! Check them out on Facebook and Pinterest.

Baby Trend Inertia Car Seat - Review

**Product was received in exchange for a honest review!**

Look up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a superhero!

Who wouldn’t want to have super powers? Invisibility, flying, x-ray vision, they all sound great! For a parent however, one of the best super powers would be the ability to protect their child. Whether you are on a cross country road trip or just getting from point A to point B there is no need to call for help.

Baby Trend released the Inertia car seat that features super technology that makes it easy to keep your child safe and comfortable.  Using LATCH connectors the Inertia eliminates complications and the worry of proper installation; you simply click the seats stay-in-car base into the vehicle anchors, push onto the brace and rear of the car seat to tighten into the vehicle and tighten the brace ratchets. This and other great features make the Inertia an excellent back seat hero.

Our Thoughts

After having 4 children you get to a point where you use the car seat that is safe but least expensive and it's not always comfortable for the kiddo. We had been looking at a new car seat for Mackenzie but when she came about two weeks before her due date, we didn't have a choice but to use the car seat Merrick had been in a few years back. I can remember with the old car seat that Merrick would start fussing about an hour into a trip. We used to have to stop and adjust him and figure out what the problem was. He was just not comfortable in the seat. Well, Mackenzie ended up not being comfortable in the car seat either. We had made a trip to the cabin when she was two weeks old, an hour into the trip we were stopping and adjusting her, trying to nurse her and trouble shooting problems.

I was über excited when the opportunity came up to be able to review the Inertia. I've always heard good things about Baby Trend, their seats, their strollers... You name it and if it's Baby Trend brand, I've heard only good things!  The second the car seat arrived on my door step, I took it out of the box and started figuring out what I needed to do to set it up for Mackenzie. It didn't take too long because I didn't have to do anything. It was ready for her to be set in and installed in my Envoy. Even if we would've needed to move the straps higher it would've just taken a turn or two of the adjuster knob on the back of the seat itself. I don't know of any other car seat that is THAT easy to get ready for baby!

Inertia Seat
Inertia Base

As soon as my hubby got home, I had him install the base to the seat in our Envoy. It was as simple as could be too!  He got the one side of the base clipped to the latch anchors in the seat and was easily able to quickly get the other side latched too! Pushing back the handle on the base, we were ready to load Mackenzie and go. Very, very, very simple!

Mackenzie in her new seat for the first time.
We didn't have any long trips to the cabin planned but we noticed that Mackenzie didn't fuss when we put her in the car seat from the beginning! She seemed to enjoy the seat unlike the old car seat. But just this past weekend we gave the seat the true test. We headed to the cabin!  The cabin is about a two to two and a half hour drive north of us. That is a really long time for an infant or any child to be in a car seat. Heck, I even get antsy to get out of the truck by the time we get there. This time though, Mackenzie SLEPT the whole trip up to the cabin! She was actually a HAPPY baby when we took her out of her seat! She loves the seat!

I would recommend this seat to anyone in need of a new infant seat. It's easy to install, it's comfortable for baby and the best is that it's not very expensive.
