My Thoughts

I have other Antsy Pants products in my house. They are a great company and make fun, different toys. That is what I am looking for as a mom. My kids has so many toys, it is getting out of hand. We have a lot of family, and they love to spoil him. So if I am going to actually buy something, it has to be something original and different. Antsy Pants has a lot of these types of toys. I love their Build and Play line. It is tons of fun. This Hoppity Hop is adorable as well. I have a kid who has a lot of energy. I mean what mom doesn't? This thing is great. He just hops and giggles, and chases the dogs with it and laughs. They find it fun too.

It is very durable. My kid is going through a "I have to bite everything" phase, and this toy is wonderful. He sat on it and bounced, and then chewed on it a little too lol. It is made of a nice thick rubber. I really liked the size and look of it as well. He liked it so much that when he got off, he made his doggy "bounce" on it as well. It was so cute.

Our Thoughts 

When looking at ride on toys you generally end up getting something for the younger kids. There aren't very many that are built for ages 6 and up are there? So what happens when you have kids that are older and see their younger counter parts getting ride ons that are fun? Here's an answer for you; you get the Dareway!






There's something to say for the elation that B displayed when he saw the huge Dareway box sitting in the entryway the day it arrived. His first question was, "is that for me?" I couldn't keep a straight face and fib to him about the plans I had; I wanted to but he was just so excited about the Dareway! He begged and begged to rip it out of the box but I didn't want to take it out only to have to stop half way through putting it together to get him dinner or off to bed. So, hubby and I waited until we had time to get things put together without interruptions. When we opened the box, we immediately grabbed the instructions and checked off everything while we pulled it out of the box. We made sure all the parts were accounted for and that we had a basic knowledge of how this thing was supposed to go together.



After laying everything out on the floor in the living room we started putting it together. It was relatively easy to follow the instructions and there weren't any "gotchas" that we noticed other than there were a couple screws in the base of the Dareway that needed to have longer screw drivers to be able to get them in properly. It took about 45 minutes to put the whole thing together and then we let it charge overnight in the garage. The charger hooks into the Dareway and isn't easily able to be unplugged by little fingers passing by. For the first ride, I'd recommend letting this charge for about 30 minutes before using it.






When B was able to the next day, we took the Dareway out to the driveway. We live on a relatively quiet street so we let him experiment with it in different environments (the driveway, the grass, gravel) but quickly figured out that this ride on is meant to be used strictly on asphalt or cement only. It took a few minutes for B to get the hang of the foot petal and the buttons on the handles for steering but he quickly overcame that and started zipping around the driveway and our street. The top speed is very safe for a adolescent there is some jerky movement when starting and stopping though so I would caution that you make your child aware of that so they're not surprised and can prepare themselves for it. The Dareway has brought a lot of joy to a child who is almost 8 years old and has long since outgrown most of the ride ons available in the store.

What kid hasn't thrown a fit in the store because they want a ride on toy? I know mine has; many times! When it comes to ride on toys it seems that the ones that are most popular emulate parents vehicles or an emergency vehicle. And when it comes to buying ride on toys, you want to go with the very best for your dollars but also something that is easy to put together and charge for your sake, right? So, for everyone's sake you go with a toy you've done your research on and can trust to be stable for your little one. This Range Rover is something you can take home and be confident with! 

When I received the Range Rover for my daughter, it was hard not to just rip it out of the box and put it together right then and there but I wanted to be able to put it together while she was either in bed for the night or napping. As soon as the weekend came and I knew I'd have a good couple hours with Miss K napping, the husband and I made a beeline for the garage where we put together the Range Rover. 

Opening the box and reading the instructions were probably the hardest part of putting this ride on together. Honest! We took about 20 minutes to just go through everything, making sure all the parts, screws and stickers were accounted for and we came up aces! Next was putting it together. Everything fit well and went together easily, thankfully! There weren't any "gotcha's" and the directions were very simple when it came to assembly. The stickers on the other hand, there were a couple that were confusing as the company gives you stickers that say "Range Rover" for both of the colors (black & white) that they offer this little 6 volt in. The stickers were easy to put on once I got past the confusion of the extra stickers. I did mess up on one of the stickers and was easily able to pull it off without wrecking it or leaving part of it on the vehicle which was nice. I think it only took us about 45 minutes to put the Range Rover together once we had taken the initial 20 minutes to acquaint ourselves with the directions. I'd recommend giving yourself about an hour to put this ride on together and maybe 30 minutes on the charger initially before the first ride. 

The charger connects to the bottom of the car so it's not easily disconnected by tiny fingers and the light on the charger lets you know when it's done. No more pulling a battery out and bringing it in to sit hooked up! You can just charge this one in the garage! 

Once it was together there was elation from the husband and I! We couldn't wait to get Miss K in it and see what she thought. We were sure she'd be a little too short and a little too scared. Boy, were we wrong! She fits perfectly at 2 1/2 years old and she had a need for speed! She did have a little trouble getting the hang of steering her new wheels but she overcame that easily! The proof of Miss K's enjoyment is in the video! I'm sure that it will probably be passed down to the nieces and nephews as they get older!
