HBO's Sharp Objects Available Now

Bring home Sharp Objects today as the eight-episode limited series, based on Gillian Flynn’s (Gone Girl) bestselling novel of the same name, is now available for Digital Download, and comes to Blu-ray™ and DVD on November 27^th. Starring five-time Oscar®-nominee Amy Adams (Arrival), the “haunting and riveting” (The Hollywood Reporter) series is directed by Jean-Marc Vallée (HBO’s “Big Little Lies”) and created by Marti Noxon (“Dietland”). Set in a small town in southern Missouri, Sharp Objects follows troubled journalist Camille Preaker (Adams) as she returns home to investigate the murder of a preteen girl and the disappearance of another. Trying to put together a psychological puzzle from her past, she finds herself identifying with the young victims a bit too closely.
 
While Adams delivers a “ferocious” (Vox) performance, the “incredible cast…” (Salon) also includes Oscar®-nominee Patricia Clarkson (“House of Cards”), Chris Messina (“The Mindy Project,” Argo), and newcomer Eliza Scanlen. My Thoughts

Sharp Objects centers around a journalist named Camille Preaker. She returns to her hometown in Missouri after a young girl is murdered and another goes missing. She finds herself once again under the thumb of her controlling mother, and relates more to the victims than she really should. It is possible there is a connection between the young victims and Camille? Memories of a troubled past she's struggled to bury reemerge as Camille digs deeper into the story.

I'm so glad they made this into a mini series instead of trying to condense it into a regular movie. It has such an in-depth story-line, they never could have done justice to the book with a shorter version. Amy Adams shines in the role, and brings to life the troubled Camille Preaker. The show is filled with twists and turns and a surprising ending that had me on the edge of my seat, even though I read the book and knew what was going to happen. Whether you read the book or not, this is a chilling mini-series that will have you hooked from beginning to end.

Ballers: The Complete Second Season

My Thoughts

I just love Dwayne Johnson, so I have no idea how I missed the fact that he had his own series. I didn't watch Season 1, but that didn't stop me from diving head on into season 2. I was able to pick up what was happening pretty easily. The series follows former football players in Miami. The Rock plays Spencer Strasmore who has moved from football to financial advising. This season included ten exciting episodes:

I really enjoyed this series and Spencers quest for success. The supporting cast is great as well. There is a reunion with a long lost dad and some of the men balance father-hood with their careers. I'm not even into football, but I still enjoyed these well developed characters. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in Season 3.
