Ballers: The Complete Second Season
Spencer Strasmore and his boys are back to "ball out" in a brand-new season of HBO's hit comedy from Steve Levinson (Entourage) that digs deeper into the extravagant, high-stakes world of football in Miami, FL. This year, things are more competitive and complicated than ever, as the lines between professional and personal get blurred in the pursuit of lasting success and glory. Retired football star turned financial manager Spencer (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) is forced to face demons from his past as he goes head-to-head with the biggest shark in the business, Andre Allen (Andy Garcia).
My Thoughts
I just love Dwayne Johnson, so I have no idea how I missed the fact that he had his own series. I didn't watch Season 1, but that didn't stop me from diving head on into season 2. I was able to pick up what was happening pretty easily. The series follows former football players in Miami. The Rock plays Spencer Strasmore who has moved from football to financial advising. This season included ten exciting episodes:
Face of the Franchise
Enter the Temple
Elidee
World of Hurt
Most Guys
Saturdaze
Everybody Knows
Laying in the Weeds
Million Bucks in a Bag
Game Day
I really enjoyed this series and Spencers quest for success. The supporting cast is great as well. There is a reunion with a long lost dad and some of the men balance father-hood with their careers. I'm not even into football, but I still enjoyed these well developed characters. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in Season 3.
