“Fabulous dark British mystery series… sensational” -Paper Mag
“Refreshingly quirky and unusually edgy” -The Guardian
Possessing an uncanny insight into criminal behavior, Dr. Tony Hill (Robson Greene, Granchester) is called upon to assist the police in building profiles of serial killers in Northern England. His unorthodox methods and off-putting personality alienate people at first, but he soon proves to be a considerable asset to the force. Along with his colleagues, DI Carol Jordan (Hermione Norris, MI-5, Cold Feet) and, later, DI Alex Fielding (Simone Lahbib, Loch Ness), Tony investigates the atrocious crimes committed by psychopaths, serial killers, and other deviants. (DVD 13-Disc set, 23 eps, $89.99)
My Thoughts
Wire in the Blood is an exciting crime series that give you a look into criminal behavior. The series centers around Dr. Tony Hill, a man who helps the local police establish profiles of serial killers. This DVD includes all 23 episodes. There are too many to give you a run down of each one, but here are a few of my favorites:
Shadows Riding - Tony and Carol investigate the death of a teenager. In addition, a famous television star is getting hate mail.
The Darkness of Light - A 500 year old corpse in found in a hotel with the fresh bodies of a young couple beneath it.
Redemption - Three dead boys are found it three different locations. Tony thinks a serial killer is leading them away because they were being abused.
Nothing But the Night - Tony gives up his publicity tour to help solve the case of a woman beaten to death by an ironing board.
Torment - A prostitute is killed and Tony thinks its a known serial killer. Though the killer is already is prison, he refuses to talk.
The Colour of Amber - A young girl is kidnapped which raises an Amber alert. They discover she was taken by a pedophile.
Falls the Shadow - Another prostitute is called by blunt force trauma and one of Tony's friends is s suspect.
This exciting series if filled with intrigue and inspired by the novels of Val McDermid. It's also very graphic, so be prepared for some spine-chilling moment. If you want to grab a copy of awesome box set, you can find it online at Acorn Media or on Amazon.
