Finding Joy on DVD

FINDING JOY (Acorn TV Original) (DVD Debut)

“Huberman brings traces of Sarah Silverman, Kristen Wiig and Anna Faris… deceptive sweetness full of gleeful, nasty surprises” -Irish Times

Amy Huberman created, wrote, and stars in this quirky, life-affirming Irish comedy with a “satisfyingly filthy sense of humor” (The Irish Times). Routine-loving Joy is having a tough time after a messy breakup with her live-in boyfriend, Aidan (Lochlann O'MearáinLove & Friendship). Then a promotion forces her to step out of her comfort zone as she replaces her network’s star vlogger, the Happy Hunter. (DVD 1-Disc, 6 eps, $34.99) Premiered on Acorn TV.

My Thoughts

Finding Joy is a new Irish comedy series centered around a young woman named Joy who is dealing with a messy breakup.  While dealing with turbulent emotions, she also gets a promotions and becomes a headlining vlogger. This first season includes six hilarious episodes.

Feel the Fear - Joy has recently broken up with her boyfriend and is struggling with her new normal. Then, she gets a promotion which gives her the staring vlogger role of the Happy Hunter.

Boundaries - Joy is vlogging about wrestling but can't find a partner. She also has trouble finding a new roommate.

Letting Go - Joy attends a run new age getaway to help over release some of her negativity.

Love the One You're With - Joy is depressed after a one night stand, but still decides to go on a double date with her flatmate.

Growing Pains - Joy is finally starting to enjoy her new job. Her spirits are looking up until she meets Aiden's new girlfriend at a hot yoga class.

The Beginning of the End - Joy's meltdown is all over social media, Amelia hightails it to Bali and Trish goes into labor.

This is a great new series and I'm excited to see where they will go with it. It's filled with lots of laughs and some over the top drama. The DVD set also includes some great behind the scenes footage. Grab a copy for yourself at Acorn Media or online at Amazon.
