RED SPARROW

Who can you trust? Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment presents a suspense-driven spy drama when RED SPARROW arrives on 4K Ultra HD™, Blu-ray™ and DVD May 22.

In this international spy thriller, Academy Award® Winner Jennifer Lawrence is Dominika, a former ballerina forced to enter Sparrow School, a secret government program that thrusts her into a treacherous espionage game between Russia and the CIA. She emerges trained as a lethal agent, but is trapped in a world she desperately wants to escape. Red Sparrow "twists and turns until the shocking conclusion" (Andrew Freund, Dish Nation, FOX-TV) – you will not see coming.

Francis Lawrence (Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2) reunites with Lawrence and directs an all-star supporting cast including Joel Edgerton, Jeremy Irons, Matthias Schoenaerts, Mary-Louise Parker, Charlotte Rampling and Joely Richardson in this edge-of-your-seat spy thriller. RED SPARROW is loaded with over 90 minutes of bonus material that takes you inside the making of the film, exploring real-life source material with the author, cast commentary, deleted scenes and much more.

My Thoughts

Red Sparrow is an exciting spy thriller. It centers around a women named Dominika. She used to be a ballerina, but then she's forced to enter the Sparrow School where she's trained to be spy. Though she's trained to be lethal, she hates the world she finds herself trapped in. You'll follow her through her training and into the world of dangerous spies where there is danger around every corner, and a shocking ending that will leave you wanting more.

This is a great thriller, with action and psychological aspects as well. There is a lot of violence and some nudity, but it's realistic and gritty, and only done when its needed for the story line. Jennifer Lawrence is great, but the supporting cast adds lots of color as well.  The movie does end in a bit of a cliffhanger, leaving you wondering what side Dominika is really on. I'm looking forward to next installment since this movie is based off a trilogy of books. Grab a copy for yourself in stores nationwide or online at Amazon.
