DETECTORISTS, Series 3

The final season of the BAFTA®-Award winning BBC comedy DETECTORISTS, Series 3 makes its DVD Debut from Acorn TV on May 29, 2018.  Mackenzie Crook (Game of Thrones, The Office [UK], Pirates of the Caribbean), who also wrote and directed the series, and Golden Globe- and Emmy-nominated actor Toby Jones (Captain America, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games) stars as two oddball metal detecting enthusiasts scouring the English countryside for treasure while dealing with their messy personal lives.Rachael Stirling (The Bletchley Circle), and her real mother, Diana Rigg (Game of Thrones, Victoria) also star in the series. The DVD 2-Disc Set features 6 episodes, plus bonus behind-the-scenes cast interviews and behind-the-scenes featurettes ($39.99, Amazon.com). Detectorists, Series 3 made its exclusive U.S. premiere in January 2018 on Acorn TV as an Acorn TV Original Series. To save up money for a place of their own, Andy (Mackenzie Crook) and his wife, Becky (Rachael Stirling), have moved in with Becky’s formidable mother (Diana Rigg), and Andy’s new position as an archaeologist is not the dream job he thought it would be. Lance (Toby Jones) worries that having his daughter live with him is causing problems for his girlfriend. And to top it off, Andy and Lance may lose their favorite detecting field to the construction of a new solar farm. This delightful comedy continues to unearth the hidden depths of those who call themselves ‘detectorists’.

My Thoughts 

Detectorists is a comedy that centers around two friends who have a slight obsession with metal detecting.  Andy and Lance spend all of their time looking for treasure and Andy's girlfriend doesn't like it. There are six episodes in this season including:

1- Andy and Becky move in with her mom, but there's a lot of tension. Lance's daughter is causing stress in his relationship as well.

2- Andy & Lance find some great stuff but run into their rivals. Toni wants Lance to get hypnotized to get over his seasickness. 

3- Lance and Andy have to fight their rivals to get the best finds. Andy wants to give up on his job, and Lance has an unexpected visitor. 

4- Lance tries to chase down the bird that took his gold coin. Andy gets s new job, and Toni runs into Lance's ex-wife.

5- The guy's favorite field is being turned into a solar farm. Kate tries to mend fences with Lance.

6- Kate movies into Toni's boathouse. Andy & Lance head out for one last hunt in the field.
