Enticing British Drama Delicious, Series 1

The new visually-appealing and appetizing British drama, Delicious, Series 1 makes its DVD debut on August 29, 2017 from Acorn TV, an RLJ Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: RLJE) brand. Leo Vincent (Iain GlenGame of Thrones, Jack Taylor) is a successful chef embroiled in food, love and infidelity with more than a few secrets: he stole most of his recipes from his ex-wife, who he cheated on for years. Now married to “the other woman,” Leo must try to successfully juggle both relationships and his job. The hit series has been renewed for a second season. This 1-Disc DVD features 4 episodes ($34.99, Amazon.com) and bonus behind-the-scenes featurettes. Delicious, Series 1 made its U.S. premiere in May 2017 on Acorn TV. Professional chef Leo Vincent has everything he ever wanted: a prosperous hotel business, a beautiful family, and an amiable relationship with his ex-wife, Gina (Dawn FrenchFrench & Saunders)—to whom he owes much of his success. But when Leo’s glamorous current wife, Sam (Emilia FoxSilent Witness), starts to suspect that he is having an affair, she asks Gina for advice, suspecting that Gina would recognize the signs of infidelity—as Leo has cheated before with Sam. But none of them could anticipate the disastrous chain of events that follows, revealing unsavory secrets and juicy scandals. As the two women try to mend their broken families, will a friendship rise from the ashes of betrayal or will they tear each other apart?

This “perfectly filmed” (The Guardian) family drama full of “food, sex, [and] gorgeous Cornwall landscapes” (The Telegraph) also stars Vinette Robinson (Sherlock) and Sheila Hancock (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas).

My Thoughts

Delicious is a scandalously fun series about a professional chef named Leo Vincent. His ex-wife Gina helped him achieve his high status, but even though he cheated on her with his current wife, they have remained friends. When his new wife Sam senses trouble, she turns to her old rival for help. This first season included four episodes.

1- Sam thinks that Leo is having an affair and asks Gina for advice. Michael celebrates his birthday and some crazy twists come about to really get you hooked.

2- There is a surprising death and a detailed request for how the funeral should be carried out.

3- Gina takes charge of the hotel and stages a wedding. A detective visits Sam and accuses Leo of fraud.

4- Sam tries to talk to Michael about the strange things she saw after the wedding. A mysterious stranger brings more made news to Gina.

I really enjoyed this series. Having been married and divorced to two different chefs, I could also relate to a lot of the drama! It also reminds me a little bit of Reba because of the relationship between the two wives. Overall, a fun series that centers around food and romance, two of everyone's favorite things.
