My Thoughts

My kids just loved this play set. It comes with everything you need to shuttle off into space.  There is one large shuttle and launch site complete with all sorts of gadgets. You can keep your astronauts in the shuttle or allow them to explore the launch pad and man the control tower. It's so much fun and really encourages imaginative play.  My son especially enjoyed the fact that it lights up and makes sounds. This requires three AAA batteries (not included). The lift also moves up and down, and the satellite can be stored inside the rocket.

The play set comes with two action figures (a boy and a girl) that come with full uniforms as well as a  really cool robot. There are also lots of little tools and a laptop for the workers to use. Assembly was pretty simple. There are a  lot of pieces,  and some of them can be tricky for small kids, but we got the whole thing assembled in about an hour. My 12 year-old son helped his younger siblings put it together. The main part of the rocket is already assembled, so you just have to add on the smaller pieces.  In addition to assembling the blocks, you also have to add the stickers.  Once assembled, the pieces stay together well. My kids were very happy with this set, and have been playing with it all day. If you're looking for something fun and original this holiday season, the PLAYMOBIL Space Rocket with Launch Site would make a great gift.
