My Thoughts
Thérèse Raquin is a mini series based on the classic 1867 novel. Therese is a young woman who feels trapped in a humdrum lifestyle and who craves more from her life. She was forced to marry her first cousin Camille. She she doesn't love him or even like him very much. When Camille brings home his friend Laurent, sparks immediately start to fly between Laurent and Therese. They begin a steamy love affair, and the two will do anything to be together. Their love affair leads to crimes of passion that could ruin all their lives forever.
This is a fantastic mini series filled with scandal and great acting. Both the costumes and the backdrops are beautiful and realistic of the time period. Thérèse Raquin is a wonderful historical adaption, and after seeing the film, I definitely plan to pick up a copy of the book.
