My Thoughts

Lovejoy mixes the world of antiques with the world of crime and this man can spot a shady criminal as easily as he can spot a forgery. He might be a little bit of a rogue, but he also has a good heart. Series 4 includes 13 exciting episodes and a bonus Christmas special.

Episode 1: The Napoleonic Commode - Freddy is about to lose his property to a bailiff which means that Lovejoy and his business will be out of the streets, but an antique toilet could save the day.

Episode 2: The Ring - Deperate to get back his home and business, Lovejoy tries to sell a fake painting.

Episode 3: Second Fiddle - A violinist asks Lovejoy to make her priceless Stradivarius look like a fake.

Episode 4: The Colour of Mary - A sleezy dealer sends Lovely on a wild goose chase looking for Mary Queen of Scots's billiard table.
Episode 5: Fly the Flag - A friend of Jane's is on the verge of bankurpcy. He asks Lovejoy to sell some paintings. They turn out to be fake, but he has a flag that could be worth a fortune.

Episode 6: Judgement of Solomon - Eric lands in jail when stolen antiques are placed in Lady Jane's car.

Episode 7: The Galloping Major - After getting his tail light smashed in a hit and run, Lovejoy makes a great find at the junk yard.

Episode 8: God Helps Those - Lady Jane asks Lovejoy to help out with a charity doll auction and someone is breaking into local antique shops.

Episode 9: They Call Me Midas - Lovejoy's mentor calls on him to try to catch a shady art dealer, and he'll need the whole team to pull off this con.

Episode 10: Irish Stew - Lovejoy travels with Lady Jane to Ireland to purchase a  Jack Butler Yeats painting and runs into a few old frenimies.

Episode 11: Dainty Dish - A Belgium baroness shows Lovejoy a chest that turns out to be pretty worthless, but sets him off a scavenger hunt to find a a valuable dinner set.

Episode 12: Taking the Pledge - An old friend of Lovejoys is living on the streets. When Lovejoy finds out he pawned a valuable miniature for a pittance he sets out to recover it for his friend.

Episode 13: Lovejoy Loses It - Lovejoy lands a spot on a TV show, but a crazy stunt could ruin his whole career.

BONUS Christmas special The Prague Sun - A war veteran returns after 50 years to claim some diamonds. There's also a little romance between Lovejoy and Lady Jane.

This was such a great series. It has all the mystery without a lot of forensics, making it a fun and entertaining watch. You can order Lovejoy Series 4 on DVD for only $49.99 at Acorn Media or on Amazon.
