Fun & Educational Holiday Gifts from ABC Mouse

We already know that ABC Mouse offers an awesome educational app that is getting rave reviews from parents and teachers across the country (check out mine here), but did you also know that they have some amazing toys and books. With the holiday season only a few week away, ABC mouse toys that bring to life the games they already. Here are just a few of the selections:

The ABCmouse.com Beginning Reader Series Sets include five beautifully illustrated hardcover books that introduce young learners to the joys of reading through stories that feature words from specific word families (groups of words with the same ending sound, such as dig, fig, and jig). Each story is told in an engaging rhyming format to emphasize letter-sound correspondence. ($39.95)

Help your students learn the alphabet and count from 1 to 10 with this educational four-puzzle sets from ABCmouse.com. ($39.95)
 My Thoughts

I got to try out the ABC Mouse puzzles first hand and my kids really loved them.  It's nice to see some real wooden puzzles, not the flimsy cardboard that you find in most places. These are high quality with bright, beautiful pictures that are directly from the app. The zoo scenes are some of my son's favorite games on ABC Mouse, and there are four different scenes in the set including gorillas, zebras, flamingos, and elephants.

The alphabet and count puzzles are just as high quality and were perfect for my daughter who's in Pre-K. She's learning her letters and numbers in school, and these puzzles give her a great way to practice. Whether you've tried the app or not, the puzzles would make an awesome addition under any child's tree this holiday season.

With wonderful and appealing characters from pirates and cowboys to singing penguins and dancing dogs, this professionally produced DVD from ABCmouse.com features 26 original animated music videos that your children are sure to love! Each of these music videos – one for every letter of the alphabet – helps children to learn and remember the names and sounds of the featured letter while providing a rich oral vocabulary experience. Additionally, every letter song is produced and arranged in a different musical style to introduce children to a wide variety of music genres. ($9.95-$19.95)

Children will enjoy bringing along the ABCmouse.com Plush Backpack on their next learning adventure! This unique backpack is designed in the shape of ABC Mouse, the playful character who serves as the site ambassador for ABCmouse.com. It features two fully padded shoulder straps that can be adjusted to fit the child, as well as a side pocket for easy access to smaller essentials such as pencils. ($29.95)

The ABCmouse.com Alphabet Blocks carpet features each letter of the alphabet in colorful, three-dimensional blocks, making it a wonderful addition to any bedroom, playroom, or classroom. This rectangular carpet is available in three sizes that allow plenty of space to play and learn. ($59.95-$199.95)

We have a young niece and nephew who are just at the right age to both very much enjoy AND learn a lot from these puzzles. (I'd VERY surprised and pleased to learn that they still actually make puzzles out of real WOOD! Wow!)

I also appreciate that these backpacks are well-sized and suited to their young users and those very well padded shoulder straps. Missed Christmas ~ but our little niece has a birthday coming up in February and I will definitely run this idea (share it too) by her folks. Thanks.
