Shave Like a Man with van Der Hagen's Traditional Safety Razor

Let's be honest. Guys' razors are just better.

It makes sense, since they're designed to keep even Don Draper's venerable jawline stubble-free from dawn to dusk. So instead of constantly "borrowing" razors from our boyfriends (we know you've done it, too), why not fully commit to a man...or at least his razor?

Engineered to be equal parts sleek and gentle, the retro-inspired van der Hagen safety razor is sure to keep your gams smoother, longer. Plus, it's a nifty economical life hack—replacement blades are loads cheaper than lady razor cartridges; in fact, you can get a pack of blades for just $6 -- meaning you can save hundreds throughout the year!

Here are a few features included in van der Hagen's Traditional Safety Razor set:

- Teflon coated blades made in Solingen, Germany
- Five ice-tempered stainless steel blades
- Butterfly opening for quick blade change
- Short handle for better control

So are you ready to trade your pink plastic for some stainless steel? Trust us, your legs will feel more ladylike than ever before.

My Thoughts

Some things have improved over time, but lady's razors certainly aren't one of them. Whenever I use one of those cheap plastic things, I wind up with irritated skin and a five o'clock shadow on my legs. While van Der Hagen's safety razors were designed for men, more and more women are stealing them from the medicine cabinet, and with good reason. If you want a close shave without the nasty razor burn, these razors are perfect for you.

The van Der Hagen is a chrome plated razor that feels good as soon as it touches your skin. When you run these along your legs, it leaves nothing behind but skin that's smooth to the touch. I didn't get nearly as nicked up as I did with my plastic razor. Even more importantly, it provides such a close shave,  you can actually go a day or two before the stubble returns.  It works just as well under the arms and in the bikini zone as it does on legs.

Each razor is sturdy with blades that are simple to replace. The short handle gives you more control over where the blade is going, and it's not heavy or cumbersome. It doesn't get rusty, even if you leave it in the shower. I loved everything about this razor. It might have been built for a man, but this woman won't be using anything else and my husband is in complete agreement.
