Backyard Ocean - Float to Fill™ Ring Pool

Even though we live at the Jersey Shore, we don't always make it to the beach everyday. Sometimes, it's nice to stay home and relax in a pool in our own little oasis where there is no sand or obnoxious tourists.  Backyard Ocean makes pool ownership easy and affordable with their large selection of above-ground pools. You can lounge in your own backyard and cool off anytime you like.

My backyard isn't that big and my kids aren't the best swimmers, so I needed a pool that was not too deep or too large. The Float to Fill Ring Pool was the perfect choice for us. The 12 Foot by 30 Inch ring fit perfectly in our limited space, and setting it up was easy.

The set comes with the pool, a repair patch, and two inflatable beach balls. I'll admit, I wasn't really prepared when I opened the box. I've never had this type of pool, so I didn't know what I was getting into. The first step was getting it inflated. It didn't come with a pump, and I didn't want to wait to buy one, so we blew it up manually. It's really not as bad as you'd think. The only part that had to be inflated was the top rim. It only took us about twenty minutes, but with an electric air pump, it would've been done in seconds.

Once it was inflated, it was time to fill it up. It holds over 1300 gallons of water, so it takes a little while to fill completely. We found it easiest to stay inside the pool as it filled. This allowed us to flatten out the bottom and prop it up on the sides so it was even. When filled, the water was 2.5 feet deep. This was perfect for my family. It didn't go over the younger children's heads but was deep enough the tweens to lounge as well.

Now that the pool is set up, it's time to plan on how long to keep it up.  There's a lot of water in there, so you won't want to waste it. Untreated, you can't leave the water in the pool for longer than three days. For this pool, the easiest treatment system is chlorine, in my opinion. One chlorine tablet should be added to a floating dispenser. This will keep the water free of bacteria . We've now had our pool up for over a week, and the water is still fresh. Of course, we do need to clean it daily of leaves and other debris with a pool cleaning kit. Neither the chlorine nor the cleaning kit are included with the pool, but can be ordered separately on the Backyard Ocean website.

Overall, I am really happy with this pool. Right now, the sale price is only $89.99 and that is a great price for what's included. However, if I were to pay the regular price of $239, I would like to see it come with at least a hand held pump and maybe a few sample chlorine pellets, this way you are prepared for everything as soon as it comes out of the box. If you do get the pool, make sure you also have the accessories handy before you fill it up so things can go smoothly.

The Float to Fill Ring Pool is only one of dozens of beautiful swimming pools you can find at Backyard Ocean. To see all they have to offer, be sure to visit their website. To keep up with new products and promotions, follow their social networks.
