CELEBRATE: The Internship Brings You National Boss's Day ECards and a Blu-ray #Giveaway

Available on Blu-ray and DVD October 22

Over the past few decades, technology has been developing so rapidly that sometimes it is difficult to keep up!  Google, one of the most well known names in the Internet and technology arena has been making a name for itself for quite some time. As seen in The Internship, the company has practically created their own empire! Their products and services can make your life much more simple, if you just take a minute to find out what Google is all about. Here, we show you how to make tech your friend and explain some of the great accomplishments of Google thus far.

In The Internship Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson team up to crash the digital world in this laugh-out-loud buddy comedy you’ve been searching for! Trying to reboot their obsolete careers, old-school salesmen Billy (Vaughn) and Nick (Wilson) talk their way into an internship program at the state-of-the-art Google campus, vying for a handful of spots among tech-savvy college students who are half their age and twice as smart. The competition is fiercely funny as Billy and Nick break all the rules in a hilarious quest to land their dream jobs!

Search Engine

Google began as a search engine named BackRub in 1996 that was used solely by Stanford students. Today, the search engine is the most popular service that Google provides to web users. By simply typing in a search term or phrase, Google will provide you with what you are looking for from its index of billions of web pages. Your search can bring you an infinite amount of answers, which is why the company chose the name Google, after a math term “googol.”

Gmail

Modern society has moved from the use of letters and phone calls to communicating more often via email and text message. Gmail, the email service provided by Google, has been around since 2004 with the addition of chat added soon after. The mailing service can be used on a mobile device and makes it simple to get organized and follow conversations with the ability to create folders. Nick and Billy can certainly attest to the fact that Gmail is important for any businessman or woman.
Google Hangouts

With Google Hangout, it is possible to come face-to-face with your friends and family who are miles and miles away. The application was released under the name Google Talk in August of 2005, providing users with the ability to communicate via instant message and microphone. To participate in Google Hangouts all you have to do is sign up for Google+ and you can connect with friends in your “circles” through your phone or computer.

Google Docs

It may be overwhelming to think of all of the applications that Google provides, including things like your Calendar, Drive, and Slides. One of the easiest and most important apps is Google Docs, a reworking of a program titled Writely. There are many great features that are important to know about Google Docs, including the fact you can access them from anywhere, making them ideal for business people on the go. Additionally, you can share your Google Doc with others by clicking the blue “share” button and entering their email addresses.
Google Maps

Google Maps provides its users with the ability to receive directions to the most obscure places. An exciting part of Google Maps, the Earth View, was introduced in 2010, providing 3D pictures of the area you are searching for. Not only do the maps provide driving directions, but Google can also bring up directions and trails for bikers. Most importantly for those who live in large, bustling cities, Google Maps can direct its drivers around traffic with real-time results.
