Box Tops for Education: Pantry Stock Up Giveaway

I have always supported my local schools, even before I had children in the system. I have donated my time and do whatever I can to make sure our local children are getting everything they need. We don't all have free time and we certainly can't all afford use donations, but there is one simple step we can all take to make a difference. General Mills makes it easy for us with their Box Tops for Education Program.

Collecting box tops in a tradition in our house and my two older children fight for the empty packages that include them. Some of our favorite products come from General Mills so its not hard for us to built up our box top collection. When each top is worth 10 cents, this can add up quickly. There are over 250 brands that support this program, many of which are common household names like Hefty, Juicy Juice, Land'O Lakes, Brita, Hanes and more. As a mom of babies as well as grade school kids, I stick to Huggies for my disposable diapers in order to gather some extra box tops. Doing this has encourages my kids to get involved in their school. It makes them feel proud to bring in an envelope filled with box tops, and it makes me feel like I'm doing my part even though we are a family of six on a tight budget.

Since this program began in 1996, over $525 Million has been earned, so its obvious its making a big difference.
