K'nex Review & Giveaway

Today marks the middle of the winter season. That means we are half way to spring! But it also means we are going to be stuck inside for awhile longer. To make the winter months seem shorter, I always look for toys that encourage my children to use their minds and their creativity.   One great way to do this is with the building playsets from  K'Nex . They have a wide range of sets to choose from that appeal to both boys and girls of all ages.

 

 

 

We were lucky enough to receive two different play sets to test out. The first we tried was the Kid K'nex Monster Buddies. These guys are designed for preschoolers and are pretty easy to assemble. My toddler did most of it on her own. Each box comes with 23 pieces that snap together and allow for a variety of different designs. It is so cool to watch these little monsters come to life. They are actually pretty cute. Luckily, we have the 350 piece tub because, as was inevitable when dealing with kids, several pieces disappeared and we were able to replace them with the tub. But the tub also contains enough pieces to make 20 unique models and enables you to mix and match with all the different collections.

We also received the Cosmic Twist Coaster. This is for ages nine and up and my son was so excited to try it out. We loved it, but I have to be honest. This one is a little frustrating for kids to complete independently. My son is almost ten and he couldn't do it on his own. I tried to help, but even I lost my patience. Finally, my husband had to get it together for us. Once it was done, all my kids LOVED playing with it though and it was definitely worth it. It stands more than three feet tall and it even lights up.  Its amazing watching the cars loop around. Its definitely a great toy. Just be prepared to have to lend a hand if you get this one for your kids unless they are a little older or have more patience than mine do.
