Save Money on Groceries with SavingStar ECoupons

I am definitely not an extreme couponer. But I do try to save as much money as possible. I clip coupons and check circulars and average a savings of around  $50-$100 a week.  One thing I have never really done is print coupons from online coupon sites. It just seemed like it wasn't worth it. You normally have to buy two or more products to save .$50 and it seemed like the ink and the paper was worth more than that. But with SavingsStar, I found a way to save tons of money with ECoupons on products I use everyday without the hassle of having to print or clip anything.

Using the SavingStar website is simple. Just register for a free account and confirm it. Then you enter your grocery and drugstore loyalty numbers. These steps will only have to be completed once. Then, just log in every week to select the coupons you want.  When you checkout at the store, your savings are automatically added to your SavingsStar account within 2-30 days (depending on when your grocery store sends the information). Once you have accumulated $5, you can choose to have the money deposited in your Paypal account, receive an Amazon gift card, or even make a donation to the American Forests.

When I logged on today, I found five coupons that I know I will use. They had coupons for Pull Ups, Lipton Tea, Pepsi, Goldfish and many more. I will have more than enough to cash out as soon as my credits are applied. I love that I don't have to remember to bring coupons. Plus if you happen to have a regular coupon you can use that too and save twice as much. I have already decided I am going to save up all my credits for Amazon gift cards and use it towards birthday and Christmas gifts.  With four kids, every little bit helps!

You can visit SavingStar yourself and start saving money right away. Just sign up for your free account and take a few seconds once a week to see what new coupons are available.  Get grocery coupons at SavingStar.com today and start saving money.

Meet Gothic Belly Dancer Laura "Tempest" Schmidt & #Win a Belly Dance Hip Scarf

Last month, I revealed that my young adult novel, "Phantom" was accepted by Pagan Writers Press.  Since then, I have been hard at work with the publisher and my amazing editor, Rosa Sophia, getting this book polished up for publication in 2012. One of my favorite scenes in Phantom includes a belly dance routine. I can't say any more about that because I don't want to give away information about a pivotal scene in the story. But I can tell you a little about the amazing woman who inspired the scene. Her name is Laura "Tempest" Schimdt, and she is a world renown Gothic Belly Dancer.

I consider myself truly blessed to have not only met Tempest, but to have shared Sacred Space with her on a few occasions. About three years ago,  I was introduced to Tempest through my best friend and coven sister, Donna. She was taking her belly dance class at a local gym, and convinced me to come along.  Now, I am just about the most uncoordinated person in the world, and learning even the simplest steps was a challenge for me. But Tempest had the patience of an angel, and always took a few extra moments to try to help me get it right. I was only able to go to few classes before I got pregnant with my daughter and was on bed rest. By the time she was born, Tempest had moved, but those few classes were an experience I will never forget.

In addition to taking her class, I also attended a few professional  performances that Tempest arranged in our area. The class was fun, but was nothing compared to watching Tempest perform live. When she begins to move, its like she is magically transformed into the Goddess herself. Her movements are fluid and graceful. Her costumes (which she often designs herself) are enchanting. She has created her own version of Gothic Belly Dance that is elegant and breathtaking. It literally brought tears to my eyes. Even as a writer, I find it hard to express just how amazing it is to watch her perform.  Tempest is one of the most beautiful woman I have had the privilege to meet. It is a beauty that emanates from her soul and is transferred to the fluid movements of her body. All the wisdom of the ages is expressed in the poetic motions of her dance. She is a true artist.

If you would like to learn more about Tempest, you can visit her website, Darkly Dramatic. There you can find dozens of beautiful photos in her gallery. Both the costumes and the poses are stunning!  If you want to learn how to belly dance, she has several DVDs available for purchase. You can also check out Med Devi to purchase her own unique accessory and costume designs.

If you ever wanted to give belly dancing a try, here is your chance. I am going to give one lucky winner a tan belly dancing hip scarf similar to the one shown in the photo. This giveaway will end on 1/20/12 and is open to the US & Canada only.  You will be able to enter this giveaway at both the New Age Mama and  Author Laura DeLuca blogs. You only need to enter ONCE. Please do not  enter on both blogs. Winner will be notified via email and will have 48  hours to reply before another winner is chosen.

C3* for Stress Review & $75 Spa Finder GC Giveaway

Despite all the joy that the holidays brings, it also brings something that is NOT on Santa’s Wish List – STRESS! In fact, the American Psychological Association states that more than eight out of 10 Americans anticipate stress during the holiday season.

There is now a new product that hopes to provide a little relief.

C3* for Stress (www.C3forStress.com) is an all-natural, lemon-lime flavored drink mix of healthful botanicals and replenishing vitamins and minerals that helps relieve the symptoms of stress by keeping you calm, cool and connected to your natural energy.  C3*’s proprietary formula combines thousands of years of healing traditions with the rigor of modern science. It keeps you focused, allowing you to be more productive when you need it most and when you can’t afford to slow down (like most of us moms!).

It was developed by the same entrepreneurs behind Elixir Teas & Tonics. This was an herbal products and functional beverage brand whose Los Angeles flagship store on Melrose was frequented by celebrities and praised by the press (InStyle, People, New York Times). It was THE destination for LA’s “who’s who” to get a little relief from the stresses of the everyday world.

C3* for Stress Product Benefits:
·        For new customers the product is FREE (just pay for shipping and handling if you visit www.C3forStress.com.
·        Conveniently packaged in single-serve packets, the drink mix can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere
·        Works quickly within 15 to 20 minutes, yet is naturally gentle
·        Stimulant- and sedative-free – your mind stays clear, focused and alert
·        All-natural, preservative free. Sugar free; no artificial sweeteners
·        100 percent of the RDA of Vitamins B6, B12, Zinc and Niacin
·        Only 15 calories

Our Thoughts: There are lots of energy drinks out there. You drink them and you're wired and bouncing off the walls for a few hours, and then you crash.  People drink them when they want the energy to get things done, but I always found they just made me jittery and distracted. C3 is a much better solution. Just mix the flavored back in with a little water, and you have a drink that is not only refreshing, but revitalizing. For me, it helps me destress and clears my head, making it easier to work on my reviews or my books without getting as annoyed and distracted by the kids. I found that my production increased after just one glass. The lemon lime flavor tastes great. Its not too sweet, and  its made with natural ingredients.

To celebrate the New Year, C3* for Stress is going to give one lucky winner is going to receive a $75 GC to Spa Finder and a one month supply of C3*for stress!  To enter, just fill in the Rafflecopter form below. The winner will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to C3* for Stress for offering this fantastic prize.

Ring in the New Year with Trop 50 (Review & Giveaway)

The New Year is all about making resolutions. For me, my one and only resolution is to lose the 15 pounds of baby weight that came along with my fourth pregnancy. I did it three times before, and I'm hoping things will go just as smoothly even though I am a little older, but I still need a little help along the way. I need to cut out unnecessary sugar and calories, but I don't want to sacrifice taste, especially when it comes to my morning orange juice beverage. Trop 50 offers just the solution I was looking for.  All eight of the tasty varieties offered provide you with the same great taste you have come to expect from Tropicana, but also cuts the sugar and the calories in half.

For our review, we tried the lemonade variety of Trop 50. This has always been one of my favorite drinks, and all my children enjoy it as well. I served in with dinner one night, and was pleased to see them guzzle their glass without ever realizing it had less sugar. I loved it too and have since bought the orange juice beverage variety that contains extra calcium, another thing I need since osteoporosis runs in my family. In addition to the flavors I tried, Trop 50 is also available in Pomegranate Blueberry, Pineapple Mango, Farmstand Apple, and Raspberry Lemonade.

Trop 50 wants to help you ring in the New Year in style. Just head over to their face book page and tell them your juicy New Year's Resolution for a chance to win a $1000 gift card!  Plus you can get a $1.00 off coupon and a $.50 coupon for up to 50 of your friends!

If that isn't exciting enough, one lucky winner is going to receive three free product coupons so they can try out Trop 50 for themselves. To enter, just fill in the Rafflecopter form below. The winner will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to Tropicana for offering this fantastic prize.

Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas DVD Review

"In ICE AGE: A MAMMOTH CHRISTMAS, America’s favorite arctic herd is busy decorating for the holiday season.  In his rush to help, Sid (John Leguizamo) destroys Manny’s (Ray Romano) favorite decorations.  Manny is so upset he convinces Sid he is now on Santa’s naughty list.  Sid, Crash (Seann William Scott), Eddie (Josh Peck) and Peaches (Ciara Bravo) take off for the North Pole to plead their case to Santa (Billy Gardell).  Meanwhile, Manny, Ellie (Queen Latifah) and Diego (Denis Leary), worry over Peaches’ safety and race to find her.  Back at the North Pole, Sid and his crew accidentally destroy Santa’s Workshop on Christmas Eve, and it’s up to these newfound friends to orchestrate a Christmas miracle.  The instant holiday classic, directed by Karen Disher, also features the voice talent of Chris Wedge, T.J. Miller and Judah Friedlander."

Our Thoughts:  Christmas comes and goes so quickly. I hate having to take down the tree and send the kids back to school. Its nice to find fun ways to extend the holiday. A great way to do that is with holiday movies.  A perfect choice for a little after holiday cheer, is "Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas." Its only about half an hour long, so its a great way to relax after dinner or before bed and still have time for other family activities. The story is an adorable tale about the Ice Age crew trying to get Sid off Santa's naughty list after he accidently breaks Manny's Christmas ball that he gives to his daughter, Peaches.  I was happy to see the full all star cast return including Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, and Dennis Leary.  And of course our favorite prehistoric squirrel, Scat, is still after that elusive acorn.

If you would like to get a copy of "Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas" as a post holiday pick me up for your family, you can find it in stores nationwide including WalMart and Target. It is also available online at Amazon for only $8.49.

Sweetriot Organic Chocolate Review

I have tried all types of organic products in my life, especially since I started blogging, but one thing I had never tried was raw chocolate. But recently I discovered a little company called SweetRiot , and they make certified organic chocolate bars that are made with portion control in mind.   They are also certified organic and fair trade. They are a unique and healthy alternative to regular candy bars that really do taste great.

2nd Birthday Bash -Aerobie Megatop Review & Giveaway

Did you ever watch the move "Inception"?  In this movie, the characters are fighting within their dreams. Sometimes they forget what is a dream and what is reality. So they all carry a little object with them to help them determine if they are dreaming or not. Leonardo DiCaprio carries a top. If it never stops spinning, he knows he's still dreaming.  The Megatop from Aerobie reminds me of this movie because this top seems like it can spin forever.

We received a Megatop to review and all my children thought it was amazing. This original design is perimeter weighted and precision crafted providing you with amazingly long spins. The quick launch accelerator will make  things even faster and helps to provide hours of playtime as you master tricks and games. The set comes complete with the top, catching plate, and spin booster.

The Megatop is easy to use and fun for kids and adults of all ages. My two older kids have been mastering all kinds of tricks, and even my two year old loves watching it spin.  If you would like to get a Aerobie Megatop for yourself, they are available online at Amazon for the low price of only $9.99. DaGeDar  are spirit like entities driven by their desire to race. They each have their own unique personality. Some race for glory, some for power, some for knowledge, but they all race to win.  My family was lucky enough to be one of the first to try out the toys a few months ago when we were chosen to host a DaGeGar party. Now my son was thrilled to get the chance to test out Gamemill's new DaGeDar video game available for Nintendo DS.

In the DaGeDar virtual world, you can travel through thirty three different levels and play as more than one hundred different DaGeDAr characters. They all have unique abilities and you can collect and trade them all. You can race the evil spirits to achieve ultimate victory or battle against your friends. Main in Suitcase Set 2 DVD Review

A rogue agent for hire during the Cold War, Mac McGill (Richard Bradford, The Untouchables) has a murky past and an uncertain future. Wrongly accused of treason by his bosses in US intelligence, he freelances as a private detective based in London, colliding with British authorities, the Soviets, and his former American colleagues. This action-packed drama aired on ABC in the late 1960s and featured a host of guest stars including Donald Sutherland. Each set is 15 episodes, 13 hrs, 4 DVDs, SDH (Set 2).

Disc 1
Episode 1: The Whisper
The owner of an African tobacco plantation hires McGill to unearth the true identity of a missionary priest working selflessly among the local people. What he discovers gives everyone a reason to want the priest dead and McGill renewed determination to keep him alive.

Episode 2: Why They Killed Nolan
McGill tries to help a fellow private investigator and old friend get safely out of the country. Not only does the man end up murdered, but McGill gets framed for the crime. While on the run from the police, he has to find out why his friend was killed and make sure he doesn’t meet the same fate.

Episode 3: The Boston Square
An oceanographer disappears and takes with him confidential research papers about deep-sea fish farming in the Adriatic. McGill tracks him down in Corfu, where the papers appear to be up for the highest bidder. What McGill can’t understand is why an Albanian agent posing as a businessman is so interested in deep-sea research.

Episode 4: Somebody Loses, Somebody. . .Wins?
McGill goes behind the Iron Curtain to make contact with a potential defector. Realizing he’s been set up, he has to get back across the border—and do so without endangering the security of a young Englishwoman who may be a double agent.

Disc 2
Episode 5: Blind Spot
When a rich, elderly Frenchwoman is robbed and killed, her sight-impaired daughter hires McGill to do what the Paris police seemingly can’t—find the killer and return the stolen jewels. What he turns up is darker than anyone could have foreseen.

Episode 6: No Friend of Mine
Saboteurs launch a series of attacks on a colonial mining company in central Africa, and the chief suspects are local terrorists seeking independence from Britain. Brought in to investigate, McGill quickly determines who is responsible. Next, he must find out why.

Episode 7: Jigsaw Man
An Italian count pays McGill to track down his younger brother, who has been running up bills all over Europe. But now the brother stands to come into half a million dollars—an inheritance he seems strangely reluctant to accept. Why doesn’t he want to sign the trust fund papers? McGill discovers there’s more than a little concealed in the fine print.

Episode 8: Web with Four Spiders
A lawyer working on an international space legislation committee gets drunk and photographed in compromising situations—in a brawl, in bed with a scantily dressed woman, and passed out in an alley. McGill learns that this is not the first time it’s happened—and wonders why no blackmailers are asking for money.

Disc 3
Episode 9: Which Way Did He Go, McGill?
A ruthless ex-con is released after five years in prison for stealing half a million pounds in gold bullion—and begins to track down each member of his gang who managed to get away. McGill follows one step behind him. But for the safety of all concerned, he’ll have to get one step ahead.

Episode 10: Property of a Gentleman
McGill’s rich young friend can’t understand why her father won’t see here—but when one of the old man’s beloved Cézannes goes up for auction, she knows that something is seriously amiss. Meanwhile, her two brothers have recruited the services of an impersonator with an uncanny resemblance to their father.

Episode 11: The Revolutionaries
An exile living in Sweden has just finished memoirs that identify the assassin of his country’s president. Aware that his enemies will stop at nothing to prevent publication, he hires McGill to escort his daughter to safety in England. But when McGill comes to the attention of the local police, why do the father and daughter deny knowing him?

Episode 12: Who’s Mad Now?
When an old flame tells McGill she thinks she’s going out of her mind, he decides to check up on the activities of her husband, who enjoys not only his wife’s money but also the attentions of a younger woman. However, another woman entirely could be the source of his friend’s disturbance.

Disc 4
Episode 13: Three Blinks of the Eyes
Fearful of her violent husband but just as desperate to get him back, a millionairess hires McGill to follow him to Paris and put an end to his affair. When the young woman in question ends up murdered, the French police quickly arrest their prime suspect.

Episode 14: Castle in the Clouds
During the course of a romantic dinner, a prominent government official allows his mistress to wear a diamond brooch belonging to his wife. When she blackmails him for its return, the desperate husband calls in McGill. The detective soon realizes that a lot of people are interested in the brooch, including the young woman’s fiancé.

Episode 15: Night Flight to Andorra
McGill organizes a team of burglars to carry out a raid on a fortress in the Pyrenees, supposedly to steal its art treasures. Their plans go awry when a tourist stumbles upon their preparations, and they take the intruder prisoner. Only at the last minute does McGill reveal the real reason for the raid.

The Windsors: From George to Kate DVD Coming January 3, 2012

Like, the rest of the world, I was glued to the television set as Prince Charles and Kate Middleton said their I do's. I think my favorite part was the sour faced little flower girl who was making faces when they kissed. Yet, this is only one of the historical events that has taken place in the last century involving the royal family. There have been weddings, coronations, and divorces. Scandals and heart wrenching tragedy, all of which have touched not only the English nation but the world. Last Minute Stocking Stuffer - Hershey’s Milk Chocolate with Almonds Piece Review & Giveaway (3 Winners)

The Hershey Company has just launched a new addition to the Hershey’s Pieces Candies family.
New Hershey’s Milk Chocolate with Almonds Pieces feature the delicious, classic Hershey’s Milk Chocolate you love with a whole almond in each piece, covered in a crunchy hard shell. As with all Pieces varieties, the new product is available in convenient re-sealable bags – perfect for any time or place and they’re great as stocking stuffers! Even now that its down to the wire, you can find these or any of the Hersheys' Pieces in stores nationwide.

Our Thoughts: If there is anything better than Hershey's Milk Chocolate, its Hershey's Milk Chocolate with a big old almond in the center.  The chocolate is just as rich and creamy as ever, but the shell keeps it from melting in your hands. Once you pop one in your mouth and bite in, its a decadent delight to find that crunchy almond core. Its a simply pleasure that anyone can afford to indulge in. Even if you're done your holiday shopping, you definitely should get these as a special treat for yourself. Just hide them from your husband. I got two bags to review, and my husband ate one before I even got back from the store:)

Three lucky winners are each going to receive a bag of Hersheys Milk Chocolate with Almonds. To enter, just fill in the Rafflecopter form below. This giveaway will end on 1/13/12. The winner will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to Beyond Adorable for offering this fantastic prize.

Laura's Wholesome Junk Food Review & Giveaway

I like to know what goes into my food and I am always looking for new brands that are made with wholesome and healthy ingredients, but still taste good. A great little company I found, called Laura's Wholesome Junk Food , does just that and more. Their line of products are perfect for people who are making a New Year's resolution to eat healthier, but taste so good that everyone will want to give them a try. I was lucky enough to try out several of their tasty product and my whole family loved them.

Laura's Cookies were a big hit in my house! The box just about a week ago, and when I brought the first box out after dinner I think they were all gone within five minutes. We got to try the  oatmeal chocolate chip, Oatmeal Raisin, Xtreme Chocolate Fudge, Mint Double Fudge and more.  I was really impressed with how much flavor they had. Most healthy alternative foods taste like card board, but these were really tasty. But they also aren't disgustingly sweet like some regular cookies can be. The  cookies were nice and chewy, just the way I like them. All in all, a great cookie experience and I know we'll be getting these cookies again.

If you would like to learn more about Laura's Wholesome Junk Food and all they have to offer, you can visit their website. In addition to their cookies, they also offer some wonderful breakfast bites that my family also enjoyed as well as cookbooks so you can create your own tasty treats. 2nd Birthday Bash! Cuddle Covers Review

I know the holidays aren't even over yet, but I have a little girl with a birthday in January, so even before the tree is packed up, I'm already shopping again.  This year I discovered a new product that is sure to be the biggest craze of 2012. Cuddle Covers  are cute stuffed animals that you can make from your favorite pillows. They are great for sleepovers with friends or overnight visits with grandmom. They come in dozens of styles that both boys and girls of all ages will love, including dogs, unicorns, lions, and more.

We received the Cuddle Covers unicorn to review and all of my kids loved it. The older ones were fighting over it so we had to work out a custody agreement where they each get to sleep with him every other night. But my toddler loves him the most and she smiles every time she sees him.  I loved that there are no small pieces that can detach so its safe even for small children. And its sooo soft and cuddly you can't help but want to snuggle up with him. Its the perfect way to encourage my daughter when she moves into her big girl bed in a few weeks. They are so cute, one just isn't enough. I have to get one for each of my children. Cuddle Covers are a lot of fun and would make a great gift for any occasion.

If you would like to get a Cuddle Covers of your own, they will be available online shortly. Sign up now to be notified of the official release, you can be among the first to have one of these awesome new toys. To keep up with new products and promotions, be sure to follow Cuddle Covers on twitter or become their fan on face book. If you want to give your children some cuddly fun, Cuddle Covers are the perfect choice for birthdays, holidays, or just because you love them.

    Winter Solstice Giveaway!

Today is Yule, The Winter Solstice,  and many people from many cultures are celebrating the return of the sun.  Even Christmas is celebrated in December to correspond with this important celestial event. I came across this yahoo video yesterday, thanks to NJ Pagans, and thought it would be interesting to share. It gives a quick summary of the solstice and how it ties into many modern day celebrations.

In celebration of the winter solstice, I thought I would offer a little giveaway. I am currently waiting on more copies of Destiny to come in, so instead of a book, I will be giving away an adorable pentacle belly button ring and a box of incense.

To enter this giveaway, just fill in the rafflecopter form below. Giveaway will end on 1/12/12 and is open to the US & Canada only. You will be able to enter this giveaway at both the New Age Mama and Author Laura DeLuca blogs. You only need to enter ONCE. Holiday Gift Guide - Betty Lukens Learning Fun with Felt Review & Giveaway

Sometimes I get tired of toys that make noise and provide no educational value.  Its important for young children to develop their imaginations now. That is the only way that some will grow up to become artists and writers who touch our lives with their work. A wonderful toy I found for my children that really encourages that type of creativity are the adorable sets from Betty Lukens Learning Fun with Felt. Whether kids want to pretend to be a vet, a princess, or an astronaut, there is a felt set that is perfect for them and will help set their imaginations free.

For our review, we were lucky enough to pick out three felt play sets, one for each of my older children, and they all loved them. My oldest daughter picked out the "Castle Times" which will make you feel like you stepped through time. You can dress your princess, laugh with the jester, or command the court as a king.  My son went with the "Let's Go On Safari" set. This one takes you through the jungle to meet with some of nature's most majestic creatives including lions, chimps, zebras, giraffes and more. And finally, for my youngest, we got the Katelyn & Friends Animal Care set where she can practice her nurturing skills on cats, dogs and all things fluffy. There is a pretty lady vet who can change into her doctors coat so she can weigh, bathe, and care for the animals.

These are only a few examples of the adorable felt play sets available at Betty Lukens Learning Fun with Felt. Each play set comes with a corresponding background to set up the characters. When kids are done playing, the pieces can be stored in the convenient carry bag.  Prices range from $9.95 to $16.95, so they are a fun and affordable choice for the holidays or any time at all.

In honor of the holiday season, one lucky winner is going to receive the Learning Fun with Felt of their choice. To enter, just fill in the Rafflecopter form below. This giveaway will end on 1/11/12. The winner will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to Betty Lukens for offering this fantastic prize.
