Everyone loves a good spy movie. Well, "L'Affaire Farewell" is more than just good. Its a fantastic, suspenseful thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. What makes this movie more than just an entertaining evening, is the fact that it is based on true events. You'll learn secrets that changed the course of history in this academy award nominated film.
The movie is set in 1981, the height of the cold war. Pierre Froment was an ordinary French engineer. when he meets KGB Colonel Grigoriev in Moscow. Pierre finds himself thrust into the biggest theft of Soviet information in history. Ronald Reagan called it "one of the most important erosional cases of the 20th century." Based on a true story, this movie is an amazing drama that you will want to watch again and again. Both Guillaume Canet and Emir Kusturica give amazing performances. Its honestly the best foreign made film I have ever seen.
