My Thoughts

These books are great. When I, as an adult, learn things, that is a huge bonus lol. My son likes all of these subjects, but he really got into the Cars! Trucks! Trains! one. The books are very similar in their format so I will discuss this one first. Number one, there are a lot of stickers! This book is definitely not wimpy on the stickers. There are all sorts of different activities your child can do. My child is only four so there was definitely a lot of vocabulary to explain to him, but he loves to ask, "What is that?" When you peel the stickers, there are facts underneath each of them. There are mazes, create your own flight formation pages, build your own train, all sorts of scenes to build for yourself. There are boat races, constructions zones, airport landing, etc. These books are very interactive, and customizable. My son can really make this book his own. I also like that unlike some activity books where they are done with them in a half an hour, this book is chock full of activities to keep your child busy for a few different sessions of play or for a very long time. They even have some more unusual vehicles as well like horse and buggy, zambonis, and ice cream trucks. All the different types of vehicles that kids love and are interested in, which is pretty much all of them.
The Oceans and Space books are similar formats with different activities and build a scenes for each of their topics. For the Space book there are scenes like Moon Walks. Mission to Mars, Stargazers, etc. In the Oceans book there is coral reefs, tide pools, shipwreck, etc. All of these books lead to hours of fun and you will not regret getting these books for your child for a long trip or any time really.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Connect with Workman Publishing

Pimp Your Ride with Custom Vinyl Graphics

I've always been a fan of cars with pinstripes. When we were young, my first husband pimped out a Toyota Camry and it looked cooler than any Mustang on the road with it's awesome vinyl graphics, huge speakers, and strobe lights. Once we had children, we traded that car in for a minivan, but I'll  never forget cruising along the Jersey shore in that car.  Today, getting the custom vinyls you want for your car is way easier than it was back in the nineties, not to mention more affordable.  Custom Vinyl Graphics has dozens of original pinstripe designs that will make any vehicle stand out in the crowd. Maybe even my minivan!  Choose from single and mutli-stripe options in a variety of colors. In addition to classic pin-striping, Custom Vinyl Graphics has dozens of fun decal options.  Here are a few of my favorite styles.

My husband and I were fans of anything supernatural or fantasy related. We played D & D and Magic the Gathering when we were teenagers.  He passed away a few year ago, but I know he would've loved the serpentine dragon design. He actually had a tattoo that looked just like it. You can even choose between three different colors to make sure it stands out on your vehicle.

My son isn't quite old enough to drive yet, but in a few months he'll be getting a car of his own. He intends to join the marines after graduation, and already loves to show off his military pride. The United States Marine vinyl would be the perfect choice for him.

And guess what? Custom vinyls aren't just for car and trucks! If you have a boat, you can give that a personal touch as well. What would be cooler than an Evil Monster graphic to make it look as though a sea monster is ready to take the ship down. Bet that will scare away any pirates!

If you're looking for a unique gift for someone who has a special bond with their car, a pinstripe or any of the fun designs at Custom Vinyl Graphics might be just what you're looking for.  You can choose from a variety of sizes to fit any model.  In addition to their pre-made styles, you also have the option to customize your design using the image of your choice. They guarantee the lowest prices on the market. Plus, shipping is free on all orders over $100. Check out their fabulous selection of vinyls today, and start riding in style.

Tips for Buying a Used Car For Your Teen

Sponsored post.

My daughter turned seventeen this summer, which (in the state of NJ) means she just got her license. Before we even left motor vehicle, she was ready to start car shopping. Teens tend to be impulse buyers, so it's important that parents guide their kids through this first big sale. Here are few tips that helped me during the purchase process.

Shop Around for Loans - If you need to get a loan, don't limit yourself to what the dealer offers you. Take the time to shop around and compare rates. I was able to get a car loan for my daughter from USAA for a much better rate than the local dealer offered.

Consider Expenses - Remind your teen that the purchase of a car is more than just the loan. They will need to budget for gas, maintenance, and insurance. Insurance prices are especially high for teens,  and full coverage is required if you have a loan.  Make sure to get a quote with your insurance company before the sale so there are no surprises.

Get the Facts - Before you head to the dealership, do your own research online. Cars.com is a great website to get all the facts on both new and used cars. You can compare prices on vehicles in your area, look at loan rates, and even find articles with great tips like when you should consider an extended warranty.

Shop Around - Don't let your teen grab the first car they see just because they are overexcited. Encourage them to shop around and test drive a variety of cars to get the one that is just right for them. Price is a big consideration, but also look at condition, ease of use, and warranty options.

Safety First - Remember that teenagers are new to driving, and are relying on you for instruction. Be sure to teach them about how to check the tires for air and remind them about oil changes. Once you find the right used car, have it checked over by a mechanic just to be sure everything is in order. You don't want a new driver to have any issues on the road.

Do you have any tips to help teens find their first used car?

Rain-X: Getting Kids to School Safely

Whether kids and teens take the bus, ride in a carpool or drive themselves, their safety during the commute to and from school is a primary concern among parents. A new survey from Rain-X® revealed up to 94 percent of parents admit to having anxiety about someone else driving their children to school. The greatest cause for concern (93 percent) comes during times of unpredictable and inclement weather like rain, sleet or snow.

This is why Rain-X is encouraging drivers to prepare for even the most unexpected weather conditions this school year with products designed to help them stay one step ahead of Mother Nature on the road this school year and beyond.

My Thoughts

Even with my glasses, I don't have the best eye sight. I have to squint to read the signs in the distance, and I have to use special glasses to be able to drive at all in the dark because of the glare. With so many issues already in my path, I am always looking for products that will help guide my way. One of the things that makes it harder for me to see is the rain. I used to get nervous driving my kids to school on rainy days, especially when it was a heavy dowour. Would I be able to see if a child ran out in front of me? Would I be a be able to stop in time? With Rain-X, I feel like a can rest--and drive--at ease.

Rain-X is a pretty amazing product. Just spray or wipe down your windshield  every now and then, and driving in the rain won't be nearly as intimidating. This is because, when you use Rain-X, instead of leaving behind blurry streaks, the rain beads up, giving you much clearer visibility, even in heavy rainstorms. When I use Rain-X, it makes all the difference for me. I can actually see where I'm going no matter how bad the storm gets, so I know I'm not putting my family or anyone else's at risk.

As colder days creep up on us, snow can be a worrisome factor as well. I live at the shore, and normally we don't get much snow and have mild winters. But last year we saw record snowfall and this winter isn't supposed to be much better. People down here aren't used to driving in snow, and this makes the ride to school a scary event. But Rain-X can help you there too. Their line of heavy-duty windshield wipers can handle any winter storm. They come in many styles for all makes & models of vehicles, are easy to install, and pretty much guarantee higher visibility.

Of course, you still need to use caution and pay attention. Always obey the traffic laws and never drive when you're too tired. If you follow these simple rules, adding Rain-X to your arsenal can only make things better. I know I feel more confident driving in inclement weather when I have Rain-X on my side. I'm sure you will too.
