My dogs love toys that squeak. Many times, they are chewing and squeaking until it becomes an irritating annoying sound. I have found a new quieter dog toy saving human ears! 

Hear Doggy is an ultrasonic chew toy that features a silent squeaker that only dogs can hear. I must say I was rather skeptical of the concept, and pleasantly surprised by the results with my own dogs. 

The toy we tested is a cute bright green gator. It is almost larger than my dog. In testing the sound, I can not hear any squeaking noise. It is silent to the human ear. It sounds like a puff of air inside the toy but that is all. In watching my two dogs’ reactions, it is quite different between the two of them. 

One of my dogs will not come near it. If I press the squeaker, she will hide in the other room. A very interesting response. I thought to myself, okay this is not going to be fun for them. To my surprise, my other dog, goes crazy over this toy. His ears perk up in attention when I press the squeaker. He comes running to grab the toy. I have seen him carry it all around the house. He tends to get possessive when it comes to toys and this one even more so. Something about the squeaker and the toy shape itself, he loves it! 

The toy is well constructed with chew guard technology. The plush material is chew friendly and the character itself is super cute! 

Dogs may react differently to this unique dog toy. I am liking the quiet play time.

Our Thoughts

My 2 yr old rottweiler, Bella, eats everything. Her favorites are dirty tissues, wood, hard plastic, post-it notes on my desk, my son's socks, shoes, and shoe inserts.  As Professor Moody says, "Constant vigilance!" with this dog! As she has grown, she's gotten a lot better about not actually ingesting things and will mostly steal/hoard items with a guilty look rather than destroy or eat them. Except tissues. Yuck.

In our household we have some fairly severe food sensitivities so I have to be careful of sprays, too, as my son generally has his hands in his mouth. When given the chance to review Chew Proof It! Anti-Chew Spray I checked the ingredients - it's simply purified water, pepper extract, and a bittering agent. 

The very first thing I did was tear off the foil seal and offer it to Bella to sniff.  She licked it, then tried to eat the foil.  Silly dog.  So I didn't have my hopes up. Later that afternoon Bella went after the shoes by the front door, so I sprayed the entire lot.  And then I sneezed.  A lot.  LOL.  It is recommended to use the spray in a well ventilated area, so just be aware that if you're spraying in a non-well ventilated area, your nose & sinuses may be affected.  But hey, if it stops her from destroying our shoes . . .

Since then, she has left the shoes ALONE. I have sprayed them a couple more times just to be on the safe side and she has not gone back after them at all.  THANK YOU EQYSS!!

Next up were things she finds completely, absolutely irresistable: the dirty tissues and my husband's fuzzy inserts for his slippers.

This face!  She looks kind of sad, as in, "Why did you do that to my favorite things, Mom?" In our upstairs bathroom, there is no space to put the wastebasket inside of a cabinet, so it's out in the open.  She knows she's not to go upstairs unless accompanied by an adult (LOL) so it's not like she's sneaking off upstairs by herself to eat tissues. I usually keep the bathroom door closed to keep her away from them when I'm upstairs.

Next up, I sprayed my husband's fuzzy slipper inserts. She LOVES these things.  I think she would actually eat them if given half a chance.  She did eat part of one of my mother's felted alpaca shoe inserts as a very naughty puppy. 

More sneezing from me - I mean, after all, it IS pepper . . . Bella slunk downstairs and curled up on the couch.  Then I get this look:

She is CLEARLY displeased with this turn of events.  Ha ha.

I have been using Chew Proof It! Anti-Chew Spray for the last few weeks testing to see how long it lasts before she goes for the same items again, or if it will drive her to seek out new items.

Although she's left the shoes completely alone since the first spraying, she still repeatedly goes after certain plastic toys, and of course her favorites of dirty tissues and the slipper inserts.  In my experience, Chew Proof It! Anti-Chew Spray lasts about 48 hours before another spritzing is required. EQyss recommends keeping up with the spraying until the pet's fixation has passed.  Thankfully, she has not sought out new items to chew. 

All in all, I do recommend Chew Proof It! Anti-Chew Spray as a chew deterrent.  You do need to use it as a training aid - you cannot just spray something once and expect your pet to leave it alone forever and ever. Thumbs up from me!

Bil-Jac Special Edition Dessert Jacs Pumpkin Flavored Dog Treats

It is a howling good time in our home this Howloween! My dogs are loving a super special treat. The Special Edition Bil-Jac Pumpkin Flavored Treats are quickly being gobbled up.

The size is a small fun pie shape. These actually smell pretty good! My two dogs are pretty picky when it comes to treats and foods, but there was no hesitation with these. They are made with real chicken ingredients with natural pumpkin flavor! There is no fillers or soy added. No added rendered fat either.

The treats are not grain free as is so popular for dog foods these days. They do contain wheat flour. If this is not a concern for your dogs, then watch them gobble up these treats! My dogs are quite fond of them. Even my pickiest of eaters was happily enjoying a Pumpkin flavored Dessert Jacs treat! The pieces are small with a lot in the package. These have become one of my dogs favorites!

Recipe

Ingredients

• 1C Pumpkin Puree (plain)
• 2 Tbsp Honey
• 1 Large Egg
• 1 Tbsp Applesauce
• 3/4 C + 2 Tbsp of Whole Wheat Flour
• Bil•Jac Dessert Jacs Dog Treats for decorating after baking

Recipe makes about 10-15 Bil•Jac Howlin’ Good Pumpkin Dessert Jacs Cookies.
Total Prep Time: 15 minutes to prepare, 1 hour or as long as overnight in refrigerator, 20 minutes to bake.
Mix all wet ingredients together (pumpkin, honey, egg, applesauce) with a mixer. Mix well.
Add flour and stir until all ingredients are fully combined. Refrigerate for one hour if you’re making them today, if not they can be refrigerated overnight and made the next day.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 1

Use a spoon to drop the cookie mixture onto a cookie tray. Cover the cookie tray with parchment paper for best results. Smooth out cookies to the desired shape with a butter knife or back of the spoon (cookies will not spread).

Step 2

Bake for 18-22 minutes. Cookies will still be soft.

Immediately after baking: Use a few Dessert Jacs to decorate your cookies.

•To finish Pumpkin or Jac-O-Lantern: Create a face on the cookie by inserting Dessert Jacs. Add one Dessert Jac on the top for a stem. Add more treats to make a face. 
•To finish Cat: Place Dessert Jacs accordingly for the eyes and nose.
•To Finish Bat: Use Dessert Jacs for ears and eyes.

Step 3

Move to rack and let cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to a week. Can be frozen for up to three months. Just thaw and serve.
•Feed one treat per day: Estimated 50-70 calories per cookie, depending on size and number of treats used.
•Since the cookie is a chewy texture, break up the cookie and give it to your dog in smaller pieces.

My Thoughts

Okay so this is the most fascinating item that I have received in a long time. This is a very cool item, with a lot of different aspects to discuss. So let's get started. It is small. It is just a little piece of plastic that you put on your dog's collar. Mine did not even notice. While it may be small, it is mighty. Okay so first step first you have to download the app. It is pretty easy to use and set up. You put in your information, your pet', and your virtual fence. If an animal goes out side the virtual fence it alert you. You can even set a daily on and off time so that when you and your pet are at home asleep, it will not be sucking up battery, and will go into a low battery mode. 

There is a rubber strap that hooks around the dogs leash. It has light indicators on the device that you can tell if it is connected to the network. It comes with a magnetic charger, some extra straps, extra screws (which I love that the send back up parts, very classy), a collapsible water bowl for your dog as the container for the Paby (really cute touch), and a sim card. It is water and dust resistant. It has a 1m water test rating. It lets you know when your pet needs some exercise, and suggest what to do. 

It is durable and lightweight for even the roughest pet, without using nasty plastics with chemicals. There is a tone and a led light for when you are finding your pet in a dense area or the dark. You can use it as a bluetooth wireless tracker when connected to wireless. You can upgrade for a monthly fee with some cell phone services you do not have to. I have not upgraded yet, but I have Verizon so I plan on it. My dog is not exactly the smartest and this item is definitely necessary in our lives. This has so many features and aspects to keep your animal active and safe, you can't not love this. My animal has not gotten loose since we got this, but I have no doubt for when they do. I am going to get one for my other dog, even though she is the good one ;-).

We walk our two dogs daily. I have one dog that is super fast and likes to pull. Another dog is a slow poke that stops and sniffs everything. Whichever dog I am taking, can be easily walked with this upscale High 5 Dogs Clic Shoulder Leash.


The leash is very fashionable looking. The heather coloring in a strong rope weave is classy. This is a most unique leash design I have ever seen. The leash can be used as a standard handheld leash or wrapped around the shoulder for a hands free walking experience. I tried it several ways. The click open latch allows for easy changing of the configuration. I tried a complete cross body wear and felt it did not give my dog enough walking freedom. If you like your dog right next to your legs, then this configuration is ideal. Using the one shoulder loop worked a little better for my small dog. She is a little afraid of getting stepped on so stays away from legs. The one shoulder method gave her the roominess to make her comfortable. The beauty of this leash is the quick click action lets me convert it as needed. It can also be clipped around a post or table to keep my dog secured near me.

The leash is well made with an exceptional quality look. The accents are genuine leather with gold tone accessories. The color I have is the beige. It looks amazing. The leash is lightweight too. The hook end is made to be a collar system too. It can be used as a training leash or clipped on to a regular collar or harness.

I love the High 5 Dogs Clic Shoulder Leash. I have found the perfect configuration for comfort and hands free convenience plus safety for my dog.
