Holiday Gift Guide #Giveaway- New SmartControl Fuel Can System.

New SmartControlTM Fuel Can System

Just in time for the onset of winter chores and sports, ScepterTM has introduced a new, easy-to-use fuel can system. Crafted with a unique push spout, the rugged SmartControl™ containers are designed for fast fills without spills.

“The innovative spout design of the SmartControl system makes it easier than ever to fuel equipment like portable generators, lawn mowers and leaf blowers,” says Daniel Marshall, vice president of marketing and business development with Scepter. “Whether filling the snow blower or the snow mobile, the SmartControl system makes fueling easier, faster  and cleaner.

“This isn’t anything like your grandfather’s old clunky, leaky metal gas can. The SmartControl fuel container is ideal for homeowner use, because it’s simple to use and store. This container is so reliable that landscapers, builders and other professionals can depend on the container day after day for workplace situations requiring continual refueling without spilling a drop.”

Available in one-, two- and five-gallon sizes, the SmartControl line includes containers for gasoline, diesel and kerosene. Recipient of the “Best in Class” Award at the 2018 National Hardware Show, SmartControl containers are constructed of durable and safe high-density polyethylene.

SmartControl Features

“One of the most exciting features of the SmartControl line is the ease of use,” says Marshall. “The spout provides a clean, fast, and hassle-free pour to fill everything from pressure washers to leaf blowers. With a single motion, the user simply presses the lever up to unlock the child safety feature with the palm of the hand, and then squeezes the large button. This first squeeze is done when upright to vent the container. Then, place the nozzle over the tank and simply squeeze again to pour just the right amount of fuel.”

The SmartControl container helps save gas for where it’s needed by eliminating messy spills. The user-controlled flow makes it easier to direct the amount of fuel being dispensed, and because the container stores with the spout on, hands always stay clean.

“SmartControl is an extension of our best-in-class products known and trusted around the world,” says Marshall. “From cutting the lawn to navigating emergency weather events, the containers we manufacture provide consumers with peace of mind and ease of use when handling, transporting and storing their fuel. Our company is known for providing rugged and easy-to-use containers. SmartControl now joins our family of trusted products.”

Safety First

The rugged SmartControl containers are Made in America and designed to substantially exceed ASTM and CPSC minimum standards. Each product includes a child safety lock and flame mitigation device for added protection.

“In any situation where a person uses or stores fuel, extra precautions must be taken,” says Marshall. “Portable fuel containers should never be used on or near a flame, coals, embers, or any other source of ignition. Additionally, children should not use or play with the containers.

“SmartControl containers are designed in compliance with safety standards. However, people should always use a good dose of common sense when storing or using any fuel container, whether it’s holding gasoline, diesel or kerosene.”

With operations throughout North America, Scepter has manufactured containers for the consumer, marine and military markets for almost 70 years. SmartControl and other Scepter products are available at major retailers and home improvement centers throughout the country. Visit www.scepter.com for more information.

My Thoughts:

My dad is an arborist as well as a talented auto mechanic. When he isn't running a chainsaw, he is fixing something and making it run again. He has used manual fuel containers for so many years that I knew this would be the perfect holiday gift for him. Not only would it be more concrete for ensuring the amount is correct, but it would be safer for my dad with the features included.

Although my dad knows about most tools, he did not know about SmartControl Fuel Cans and could not wait to use it! It was and easy and smooth process to set up and made such a difference. Rather than potentially spilling fuel and making potential mistakes in filling up machines, this helped him be more precise while staying safe. He loved the ease of use, filling, and ultimately how much more effective his work was. This will be his go to item for years to come!

The Giveaway:

Scepter has provided an awesome opportunity for one of our lucky readers to win a SmartControl Fuel can for themselves! I know you will love it as much as my dad and I do! Thank you so much, Scepter!

 About Daddy & Co
Daddy & Company® is the offspring of Robert Nickell, who fathered his first four children more than 20 years ago. Daddy & Company® was conceived when Robert, who remarried in 2007, discovered he was about to be a father all over again in 2009!

Not wanting to endure the pains of wearing uncomfortable street clothes while comforting his laboring wife, Robert hatched the idea of creating doctor-like scrubs for himself. It seemed a natural thing for him to do — since Robert is a pharmacist by profession.

To eliminate the confusion between “who’s the doctor” and “who’s the daddy,” Robert fashioned the concept of “I’m The Daddy®” medical scrubs.

Our Thoughts
What could be cuter than coordinating Father/Son tee-shirts?  Daddy & Co offers several sets - my favorites are the bicycle/tricycle, the oak/acorn, and the dinosaurs.  My husband is an avid bicyclist, so it was a no-brainer which tee set to choose.  That, and our son is a stain-magnet (what boy isn't??) so having the dark blue background is definitely a plus!  They are adorable together in their coordinating tee's!!

The tee shirts from Daddy & Co are a soft, stretchy 60/40 cotton poly blend - very comfortable!  I spent years in non-stretchy, uncomfortable office attire before becoming a mom, and now soft stretchy clothes are a MUST for ease of chasing after a child!  Some tee's out there are made with 100% cotton, but overall I prefer the cotton/poly blend as they don't shrink and last longer than 100% cotton.

The Daddy & Co isn't just tee shirts & DaddyScrubs though, they also offer hoodies, loungewear, and tons of accessories for Dad!  From hats and ties to BBQ sets, bug spray, sunblock, water bottles, and of course the Daddy Diaper pack; Daddy & Co has something for every dad!  You can shop by Daddy Type (Expectant, New, Expert, and Active) or by Occasion (Game Day, Father's Day, Baby Shower, Summer Collection).

Great tee shirts - great ideas for Father's Day!

Made By Dad Book Review

Made By Dad

***Product was received for free in exchange for an honest review.***

The Snail Soup Can Decoy to keep the candy stash safe. The Customizable “Keep Out” Sign to deter meddlesome siblings and parents. A Bunk Bed Communicator made from cardboard tubes (“Psst! Can you keep the snoring down?”). Clever, whimsical, and kind of genius, here are 67 unique projects that will turn any dad with DIY leanings into a mad scientist hero that his kid(s) will adore.

No screens, no hi-tech gadgetry. Made by Dadcombines the rough-edged, handmade ethos of a Boy Scout manual or The Dangerous Book for Boys with a sly sense of humor that kids love. Scott Bedford, a creative director by day and Webby Award–winning blogger by nights and weekends, wields an X-ACTO knife, magic marker, and prodigious imagination to create endlessly delightful projects for his two sons. He knows that kids like contraptions and gadgets, things that are surprising—a chair that appears to be balanced on eggshells. Things that are complex—a multilevel city, with buildings, tunnels, and roads, built from old boxes around the legs of a table. And especially things with humor—the Snappy Toast Rack, made to resemble a crocodile’s gaping mouth.

The projects are shown in full-color photographs, and the instructions are illustrated in detailed line drawings that exude personality. Some are quick and simple enough to be done in a coffee shop; others are more of an afternoon project— yielding hours and hours of rich, imaginative playtime.

Our Thoughts

My husband is definitely the kind of guy who can make the weirdest things out of the simplest of objects. When I saw this book was up for a review, I jumped on the chance, knowing it would be perfect for my husband.

This book is surprisingly much larger than I thought it would be and much less complicated too! Not only did my husband have a blast using this book, but my kids did too! Each project is easy to read, clearly stated what you'll need, has diagrams and wonderful pictures to go along with it. Makes it much easier for my youngest, who does not read, to look through and pick out a project she wants to do with her father by just looking at the photos.

This book has provided many nights of father-child play. Lots of family fun, especially when we created the Spaghetti & Marshmallow Eiffel Tower! For some reason we always have stale noodles and leftover marshmallows so this was very readily available for us to create! If you're curious to see how THAT turned out, check the book out for yourself right here, it's great fun!

Book Review: My Dad Thinks He's Funny

"Product was received for free in exchange for an honest review."

April 2013 | ISBN: 9780763665227 | $15.99 | Hardcover | Ages 5-8 | 32 pages
The ideal gift book for anyone whose dad makes them laugh- or roll their eyes.  When his son says “I’m hungry,” Dad says, “Hello, Hungry. Pleased to meet you.” Before slicing a cake for dessert, Dad announces, “There’s my piece. What’s everybody else having?” How is he feeling? “With my hands.” So when nothing’s up but the sky, or when jumping in the shower sounds dangerous, it may be a good time to share this book with someone who doesn't need sugar because, well, they’re sweet enough already.

Our Thoughts:

My husband is hilarious, and this book has many of the same things that he's said and done! Our little boy laughed and laughed through this whole book making comments like, "Mom, Dad does this," or "Mom, Daddy says this all the time."

A great gift for dad for Father's Day or birthday, or any time when you want to give Dad some recognition! I promise you can't go wrong with this book, as adults and children alike will love it! Laughter is the best medicine, and this book will have you rolling on the floor!

5 stars for a wonderfully written kids book, for dad!
