How often should you bathe your little one and for how long?

I recommend that you bathe your baby every other day for no more than 10 minutes, and then consistently wipe their private parts and their neck once or twice a day. When my daughter was young, I used AVEENO^® Baby Wash & Shampoo on her sensitive skin.

Why is baby skin so sensitive?

My Thoughts

 The Aveeno Soothing Relief Moisture Lotion leaves skin feeling rose-petal soft.  The baby lotion is gentle and safe for even a newborn's skins and can even be used by adults with sensitive skin issues like eczema. It goes on smooth and has no greasy residue. It comes in a nice squeeze bottle for easy access. It is made with soothing oatmeal and its unscented. It  works well enough that I could use it on my own skin with results that were just as impressive.  

 The Baby Wash & Shampoo is gentle enough that it doesn't burn little eyes or irritate baby's delicate skin.  It also leaves his skin feeling rose-petal soft, and there are no heavy perfumes. It lathers nicely and never leaves your skin feeling sticky. It's a refreshing and tear free formula that works as both a wash and a shampoo, saving space and money.

Q: At what age can I safely start using SPF on my baby?

A: The American Academy of Dermatology and The American Academy of Pediatrics both recommend that you can safely use sunscreen after 6 months of age. I recommend complete sun avoidance for the first six months, including the use of UPF hats, umbrellas and protective clothing.

Q: I’m a first time mom, what do I need to look for in baby sunscreen?

A: Just like for adults, it’s important to select sunscreen with UVA/UVB Broad Spectrum protection of SPF 30 or higher. Since babies’ skin is extra sensitive, look for products that are also hypo-allergenic and fragrance-free. Also, you want to look for Brands that are both pediatrician and dermatologist recommended.

 Q: What ingredient(s) should you look for in baby sun protection products?

A: For babies, parents should opt for physical blockers, Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide based products that also have soothing, skin healthy ingredients. My Thoughts

I got to try the Aveeno Active Naturals Sunscreens and there were lots of things I liked about these products. In addition to it being a more natural alternative, they aren't greasy or sticky when applied. I also like the scent. It was very light and doesn't smell like chemicals. It almost feels like you're applying regular lotion. It addition, it's water proof and sweat resistant. So we're good at the beach and at soccer games. But most importantly, it worked perfectly. There was not one speck of sunburn on me or my kids even after a full eight hours in the sun without reapplying.  

I also tried the Anti Itch Concentrated Lotion. This stuff has tons of possible uses. It works for poison ivy, chicken pox, insect bites and more. My daughter has been breaking out in hives and this lotion really helped sooth the itch. It also worked wonders on mosquito bites. It doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy but  be prepared for a strong menthol scent that will definitely clear sinuses.

 My Thoughts


It's that time of year again! My family and I are hitting the beach every chance we can get.  My Thoughts

The first thing I noticed when I tried out Aveeno Pure Renewal shampoo and conditioner combo is the wonderful scent. It has a sweet fragrance that is invigorating without being overpowering. The shampoo creates a generous lather even with just a small quarter sized amount, and leaves hair soft, clean, and vibrant. The conditioner did not leave my hair feeling greasy or heavy like other brands, but still made it easier to get out all the tangles. After just a few days of using these products, I saw a marked improvement in the condition of my hair. There are less split ends, its much healthier and thicker,  and it really shines.  But I think the best part about this line is that is uses all-natural ingredients. Of course, they are also affordable and they work great. You can't ask for more than that.

 When I tried the Aveeno Pure Renewal dry shampoo, I really didn't think it would work. It actually took me a few days to work up the courage to skip the shampoo when I was in the shower. But finally I did it. I got dressed and was horrified and my stringy, greasy hair.  I sprayed in the Aveeno dry shampoo. thinking it couldn't possibly do anything and I would have to jump back in the shower. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. After spraying the it on my roots and combing it through, my hair looked great. It was healthy and shiny and even had more volume than it normally does. Plus it saved me the time of having to shampoo and condition and rinse both out. In ten seconds I had perfect hair. I was amazed! I really can't recommend this product enough. Especially to busy moms who sometimes don't have the time for a shower.
