Review: Sonic's Newest Menu items for Fall are a hit!

Sonic Drive-In continues to build its variety of premium chicken menu items with the introduction of the new Cheesy Pub Chicken Sandwich. With rich, cheesy flavors blended together perfectly atop the quality chicken fans have come to expect from SONIC, this is a flavor-packed sandwich that delivers when fall comfort food cravings call.

 

Your choice of grilled or breaded chicken, or even a burger, you really can't go wrong! Double the cheddar cheese with not only a slice of white cheddar, but cheddar cheese sauce, you are not lacking. Filling and made with pure 100% white meat chicken, this sandwich is now a favorite! Caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, and a ciabatta bun, this is definitely luxury at a drive-in!

 In addition to their new sandwich, they have also announced the launch of its new line of Waffle Cone Sundaes, offering guests even more ways to enjoy SONIC's Real Ice Cream offerings. Available in three new Waffle Cone Sundae flavor combinations, including REESE'S Peanut Butter Cups® & Chocolate, SNICKERS® Bar & Caramel and M&M's® Candies & Strawberry, the new Waffle Cone can also be customized, opening a world of dessert possibilities to creative dessert lovers.

Who doesn't love ice cream? This limited menu item is a great treat or dessert when you stop in to America's favorite drive-in! This is definitely an all in one sugar fix! Creative and delicious the new Waffle cone sundae's offer an experience that takes ice cream to the edge.

I tried the M&M and strawberry, and was pleasantly surprised at the combination.  The cone makes it easy to hold on too, and isn't messy. Look out though, at the bottom is candy overload! I kept thinking where is the candy? And was shocked to find the bottom of the cone filled with chocolate treats! I can't wait to go back and try a different combination.

Review: Sonic Adds New Master Blast To Menu

Sonic is America's favorite drive-in, and my favorite place to get ice cream! When I learned about their new "Master Blast" I was all over it! So many times you get stuck in the same rut of eating the same thing. I wanted to try something different!

I tried two of the six new additions to the menu, and quickly decided which of those two was my favorite. The new flavors are: Cookie Dough, Triple Chocolate, Turtle Pecan, Pineapple Upside Down, Banana Split, and Caramel Brownie. Being a chocolate lover I got Triple Chocolate, and I love a good salty and sweet treat, so I got Turtle Pecan as well.


The Triple Chocolate, is awesome! Chunks of brownies, and chocolate chips in your chocolate syrup smothered ice cream. It's a chocolate overload, no doubt. Anyone who loves chocolate is sure to enjoy this! I love that there is a perfect mix of brownies and chocolate chips.

My favorite by far, though, was the Turtle Pecan. Vanilla ice cream with salted caramel, chocolate chips and pecans. Heaven in my mouth. It is the perfect mix of sweet and salty, without being over done.

Sonic has always been top notch with their desserts, and their food in general. I am happy to tell the reader how wonderful the new Master Blast additions are! You are sure to enjoy them, as I did. This summer will be cool, thanks to these tasty ice cream treats!

Sonic's New Spicy Menu

SONIC Drive-In unveiled a new lineup of spicy menu items, and they mean spicy, that seek to meet the growing consumer demand for fiery foods. The new lineup includes the Classic Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Island Fire™ Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Island Fire™ SuperSONIC® Cheeseburger and Southwest Chipotle Breakfast Burrito.

Restaurant trade magazine Nation’s Restaurant News reported in June on the spicy food trend, citing a study that found hot or spicy foods appealed to 48 percent of American consumers. In addition, over 55 percent of those ages 25 to 44 ranked their preferred level of heat at a seven or higher on a scale of one to 10.

“With these new spicy menu items we really want our customers to experience the addictive thrill of spice,” said Chef Claes Petersson, vice president of product innovation at Sonic. “We’ve created the perfect combination of spice and flavor that will have our customer’s taste buds tingling as each bite brings a flavorful thrill.”

The Classic Spicy Chicken Sandwich is a kicked-up classic, featuring 100 percent all-white meat crispy chicken breast filet seasoned with a spicy cayenne pepper blend, crisp lettuce, hand sliced tomato and mayo atop a toasted ciabatta bun. For the more daring, the Island Fire™ Spicy Chicken Sandwich includes a sweet and spicy habanero sauce on top of the spicy chicken breast filet for a completely new and exotic chicken experience.

For burger lovers, the Island Fire™ SuperSONIC® Cheeseburger is made with 100 percent pure beef patties, featuring smokey cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, crisp bacon, fresh lettuce, hand-sliced tomato and a sweet and spicy habanero sauce on a warm, toasted bakery bun.

To satisfy cravings for spicy at all times of the day, SONIC is also introducing the new Southwest Chipotle Breakfast Burrito with smoked chipotle sauce and fire-roasted red and green peppers to help bring a little more spice to breakfast time.

Our Thoughts

I am loving the new spicy line at Sonic! These tasty treats (meals!) are definitely going to get your tastebuds-a-roaring. Came out just in time for this cold winter weather as well, these spicy sandwiches/burrito will help warm you up and fill you up.

I did not try the Island Fire Chicken Sandwich, as that has habanero sauce on it and I like spicy, but not too spicy, and that's exactly what the Spicy Chicken Sandwich gave me! I was a bit surprised with the texture of the bread on the sandwiches, much softer than I expected, but the flavor tied in quite well with the flavor of the chicken. The tomato and onion just bring everything together in a yummy bite, and also help with the "coolness factor" so the sandwich isn't too spicy.

I cannot wait to try out the rest of their spicy line (especially that double cheeseburger!), as so far they have not disappointed at all! Excellent!
