Pets can teach children valuable lessons when it comes to responsibility; no matter how young, it’s important children build good habits early when it comes to providing the best possible care for a pet.
May is National Pet Month and Lyme Disease Awareness Month, and in conjunction with Bayer Animal Health’s annual International Companion Vector-Borne Disease (CVBD) Symposium, Bayer Animal Health has partnered with the iconic storybook character Clifford the Big Red Dog to create custom “Clifford Goes to the Doctor” books, which provides families with important tips for the preventing pets from flea, tick and mosquito bites.
Thought this story would be of interest to share with your readers as the book provides many tips that parents can teach their children about when learning how to care for their pets.
My Thoughts
This was such a cute book. It starts out when Clifford was a tiny little puppy. Clifford was a little scared to see the doctor and get his shots, but the doctor made him feel at ease. Her biggest concern was that Clifford was a little too small, so you can imagine her surprise when he came back the next year and didn't fit in her office! She had to bring him to a truck stop just to measure him. But through it all, the doctor still made Clifford feel safe and secure. This adorable story is fun to read, is easy for young children to follow along, and helps kids learn that the doctor isn't that scary after all.
