My Thoughts

Taken Down is a new series series set in  Dublin. Jen Rooney is a detective working the case of a murdered Nigerian woman. Before long, they discover she isn't the first girl to go missing from the center for asylum seekers. Jen and her team set out to save another girl from a terrible fate. This season included six exciting episodes.

New Home - Abeni comes to Ireland seeking asylum, but instead she gets drawn into the murder of a  young girl named Esme.

Caught on Camera - Everyone at the center is on edge after the murder. Jen discovers someone in power might've been having an affair with Esme.

Super Clean - Abeni is working at a brothel for a slum lord and the police have a lead on a car that might be involved with Esme's death.

Tailed - Jen has Abeni followed in the hopes of getting more leads. Abeni tries to save a girl being abused at the brothel.

Evidence - The police figure out where Esme was killed, but the culprits may have gotten away.

Endgame - Jen was someone in custody and they find a new suspect in the quest for the murderer.

This is a great series with an awesome female lead. It also focuses on sex trafficking in a way that is respectful and will raise awareness of a very real issue. If you want to grab a copy of the DVD set it is available on Acorn and Amazon.
