My Thoughts

Straight Forward is a new crime drama from Acorn Media set in both New Zealand and Denmark. It revolves around a Danish con-woman named Sylvia. After her father is murdered, she sets out to avenge his death. This season includes eight thrilling episodes.

Revenge - Sylvia helps her father in his business of transporting stolen goods. When her father is murdered she believes a kingpin named Ravn is responsible.

Not Far Enough - Sylvia settles into an apartment in New Zealand, but sends her mother and daughter to a safe house. A detective also sets out to solve the murder.

Kidnapped - Ravn kidnaps Sylvia's daughter. She intends to trade incriminating evidence for her daughter's life.

Fly in the Ointment - Ida tries to contact her father, but he may be in Ravn's pocket. Sylvia is catching feelings for Adam.

Charity Begin at Home - Ravn gives the detective info on Sylvia and she helps Adam with a fundraiser.

Closing In - Sylvia comes close to being captured by Ravn's people and he wounded.

The Last Con - Sylvia makes a real with the detective to catch Ravn.

This was a great series with an exciting plot. I enjoyed the concept of going back and forth between the two countries and I especially loved all the stunning scenery, but I didn't enjoy the subtitles. This is primarily because I usually "watch" television while I'm working on my free lance writing projects, and if there are subtitles, I can't really look away without losing track of the plot. I also don't have the best vision, so I have to get close to the television to be able to read the subtitles. Aside from that, I really enjoyed it. If you'd like to purchase a copy of this DVD, look for it on Acorn Media or Amazon.
