Holiday Gift Guide - The Durrells in Corfu Season 3

In “The Durrells in Corfu,” Keeley Hawes (Upstairs Downstairs, Wives and Daughters) stars as an intrepid widow who decamps from dreary 1930s England to a sun-dappled Greek island with her four recalcitrant children, ages 11 to 21, in this adaptation of Gerald Durrell’s My Family and Other Animals and its two sequels. The run time of Season 3 is approximately 384 minutes.

My Thoughts

The Durrells in Corfu is an interesting series about an eccentric family. The show is set in the 1930s and takes us between Greece and the UK.  In this season, they spent a little time with their Aunt Hermoine. She has changed quite a bit since she found love, and is much more docile than she used to be. Leslie is having lots of fun in this season as he woos three different girls, but his family keeps sticking their nose in his business. Margo has decided her time is better devoted to animals than to men. And Louisa heads off to the UK with Larry to get their affairs in order.

This is a really great show. I have watched it from the beginning and have loved watching this characters grow and develop over the years. I would recommend watching the seasons in order, but even taken individually, each episode is a fun mix of romantic drama and laughs.  A box set of Season 3 would make a great holiday gift for any fan of the show.
