Acorn TV features the DVD debut of the addictive, visually appealing British drama DELICIOUS, Series 2 on July 3, 2018. The appetizing drama about food, love and infidelity in Cornwall returns starring Dawn French (The Vicar of Dibley) and Emilia Fox (Silent Witness) with Iain Glen(Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, Jack Taylor). Joining the cast for Series 2 is Franco Nero (John Wick: Chapter 2, Camelot, Django) as the father of Gina Benelli (Dawn French). The DVD 1-Disc features 4 episodes and bonus behind-the-scenes featurettes ($34.99,, Series 2 made its U.S. premiere in March 2018 on Acorn TV and has been renewed for a third series. It’s been almost a year since the sudden death of philandering chef Leo Vincent (Iain Glen), but his presence at the Penrose Hotel is more palpable than ever. His ex-wife, Gina (Dawn French), and widow, Sam (Emilia Fox), have turned the failing hotel he left behind into a profitable enterprise. Gina does the cooking while Sam manages the business, but they continue to have professional and personal disagreements. With an ongoing police investigation into the hotel, an unexpected guest, and a handsome new hire, Gina and Sam’s partnership may be a recipe for disaster. And while Leo ruminates on life from beyond the grave, his secrets come back to haunt his family.

Set against a backdrop of stunning Cornwall landscapes, Delicious offers “a feast for the eyes” (The Sun). This “darkly offbeat” (Express) drama also features Aaron Anthony (Doctors) and Sheila Hancock (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas).

My Thoughts

Delicious is a scandalously fun series about a professional chef named Leo Vincent. His ex-wife Gina helped him achieve his high status, but even though he cheated on her with his current wife, they have remained friends. When his new wife Sam senses trouble, she turns to her old rival for help. This second season included four episodes.

1- A year after Leo's death, Gina and Sam are doing a great job with the business despite differences. Gina has to deal with her estranged father and Sam hires a new chef.

2 - Joe refuses to leave the hotel. Michael & Gina plan a surprise party for Sam. Teresa wants to quit therapy.

3- Gina wants to host a dinner on the anniversary of Leo's death. Gina finds missing money and thinks someone is stealing.

4- Gina reveals Adam's true identity. Gina gets ready for her wedding. A staff member finds a lot of money and calls the police.

I really enjoyed this series. Having been married and divorced to two different chefs, I could also relate to a lot of the drama! It also reminds me a little bit of Reba because of the relationship between the two wives. Overall, a fun series that centers around food and romance, two of everyone's favorite things.
