Loch Ness, Series 1

The beautiful, haunting shores of Scotland's most iconic loch is the stunning backdrop for the new six-part crime drama. In a community nourished and sustained by myth and bordered by untamed nature, the search for a serial killer becomes a matter of life and death for local detective Annie Redford (Laura Fraser, Breaking Bad). Within the tightly knit town, a sense of horror begins to dawn as the villagers realize that there is more than one kind of monster in their midst. Also starring Siobhan Finneran (Happy Valley).

My Thoughts

Loch Ness is a brand new Acorn series set in Scotland.  The show follows detective Annie Redford. She lives in a small town, and is dealing with her first murder case after a body is discovered at the bottom of a cliff. She gets so wrapped up in the crime, it causes trouble at home with her husband and daughter. This season includes six thrilling episodes.

1- The legend of Nessie is overshadowed when a body is found at the bottom of a cliff. Annie has to figure out if it was an accident of murder.

2- Annie is taken off the case when it appears her daughter is involved.  Jonjo disappears after witnessing a strange event.

3- Dr. Marr is clearly hiding something. The search for Jonjo continues.

4- The case is putting a strain on Annie's marriage. A college professor is questioned.

5 - Dr. Marr's secrets are revealed. The case seems like it's all wrapped up until an underwater drone makes a surprising discovery.

6- A new body is discovered and leads the team in a new direction. A familiar face may be involved.

I really enjoyed this new series. I always love to see a female detective leading the cases, and I also enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Scotland's Loch Ness. Each episode was packed with intrigue. I'm excited to see what happens in the next season.  If you'd like to grab a copy of this fantastic series for yourself, it is available online at Acorn Media and on Amazon.
