DVD Review: Strawberry Shortcake Campberry Stories

Strawberry Shortcake: Campberry Stories
It’s time for tall tales and small kindnesses in this berrytastic animated trio. Strawberry Shortcake and her pals are on their annual campout in Very Beautiful Meadow when they decide to see who can tell the most outrageous story. Plum, Cherry and Orange get things started with different made-up reasons to explain why they’re late to the party. Sour tells everyone an imagined adventure involving her and her sister, Sweet. And Apple tells the campers about a thrilling cross-country race… only she insists it really happened. It’s going to be a berry difficult decision to choose the best tale!

My Thoughts

When I was a little girl, I loved Strawberry Shortcake. I had dolls, miniatures, and even my bed sheets were Strawberry Shortcake. Now that I am grown up with two little girls of my own, I was excited to see that my favorite character was still around. She has had a little bit of a makeover since the 80's, but all in all, she is still the same Strawberry Shortcake that I know and love. And now there are more than just toys to enjoy. Strawberry Shortcake has her own line of movies and a television show. The newest in the DVD collection is Campberry Stories

In this DVD, Strawberry Shortcake and her friends are enjoying some fun in the sun during their annual camp out. They sit around the camp fire telling tall-tale stories. When two of the girls show  up late, they have their own tall tales to tell. Each story is exciting, and packed with adventure that also teaches a great lesson.

Both my daughters loved sitting down to watch this film together. It's the perfect choice for a little girl and a great film to have around for rainy summer days. In addition to a fun storyline, there are always great underlying messages, the most important always being that friendship can help you overcome any problems.
