Educational Insights Summer Fun #Giveaway

Soon the kids will be out of school and we'll be looking for ways to keep them occupied. Educational Insights has tons of fun games and toys to help make your summer run smoothly. Here are three of our top picks.

Crazy Cereal

It's a showdown in a bowl! Grab a spoon and watch as it magically changes color. Then, dig into the cereal-serving bowl and scoop up pieces of that color. Cross your fingers for a color flash free-for-all and collect two pieces at a time. During this all-play game, quickly collect the most cereal pieces to win!

My Thoughts

My two younger kids loved this game! It's easy, quick-paced, and a ton of fun.  Each game box includes one  large bowl, two small bowls, and two light up spoons. The object of the game is to get the most pieces in your bowl. You achieve this by watching the flashing lights on the spoons.  It flashes between red, green, yellow, and orange to match the cereal pieces. You have to try to use your spoon to capture the same color cereal as the color currently on your spoon. If the spoon is flashing multiple colors, you can catch two pieces of any color. Once the big bowl is empty, whoever has gathered the most pieces of cereal is the winner.

This two-player game is a great choice for pre-school aged children. It will help them learn to match colors, but its also just a lot of fun. My kids love the silly alligator on the box. Its also easy enough that I can get them set up and the two of them can play independently. Crazy Cereal is the perfect way to keep kids entertained and makes for hours of fun.

Things worth noting:
AAA batteries for the spoons are not included.
The small pieces can be easily mistaken for real cereal or candy, so keep out of the reach of very young children.

Observe nature from your favorite secret hideout. Peek over a large rock during a hike or around a tree at the park-undetected. Exploring in the dark? Flip on the LED light to spy on nocturnal animals in your backyard or to peer into a dark space. This periscope has a wide viewing area to see far and wide, easy-grip handles, and soft goggles with a comfy nose placement to guarantee a relaxed expedition.

My Thoughts

The GeoSafari Sneak & Peek Periscope is just too cool. It has a wide rim and long neck to allow  for  a great view of almost anything. Kids can hide behind the sofa or inside a tent, and just have the top poke out, making them feel like a real wildlife explorer. It's a very powerful device, and you can see things at a vast distance. There is also a built-in LED light powered by two AAA batteries.  The handle is easy to grip and control, even for little fingers.

My children have had a ball using the periscope on pretend safaris, camp outs, pirate adventures and so much more. The thing they loved the most is how they can see their magnified eye from the top of the periscope. They thought that was hilarious.  It's fun both indoors and outdoors, and can be used both at night and in the daytime.  It works very well for a toy, and its very sturdy and well-made.

Note: 2AAA Batteries needed for the light are not included.

 Blurt Sports

Now you can Blurt! on the go about Sports! This handy, portable version of best-selling Blurt! comes with 450 sports-related words. This fast-paced game of rapid word recall will be a slam dunk with your friends and family.

My Thoughts

It's hard to find games that older kids can enjoy, but Blurt is definitely a fun choice for tweens and teens. This particular version is Blurt Sports, and as the name implies, it's all about sports. The object of the game is to be the first to score 12 points. You accomplish this by being the first to guess the correct answers based on the definition you're given. You will need at least three players. One has to read the question while the others guess. Some questions are super easy, and others only more advanced sports fanatics will be able to answer. But whether you get the question right or wrong is only half the fun. "Blurting" out the answers is what makes this game a winner. It's even funnier when people rush to answer first and guess the wrong thing!

This fast-paced game is lots of fun, easy to play, and quick and convenient to set up. It comes with 75 double-sided cards that stay organized in their cardholder. The magnetic scoreboard is on the inside of the metal case, and the player pieces stick to it nicely. This makes it a great game for the car as well as at home.  Parents will have just as much fun playing this one as the kids, especially if they're sports lovers.
